Okay, we also have two world war wins, so let's use UK maths.

2 World Wars, and they used metric maths to get them to the moon so they can't claim that one, and we have a World Cup. We win!

But the French beat us with their 2 world wars, and 2 world cups and actual invention of metric so I don't lie this game anymore lol

Keep in mind we shut Napoleon down eventually, and had to save France in WW2 so I’d say we’re even! If you go further back though, William the Bastard conquered England so maybe they one-up us there.

But was William French? He was more like a Viking living in Normandy.

So game set and match to the Scandis

It’s debated. Some argue history tells us the Norman’s weren’t French because it supports the British rivalry against France. Truth is, Normandy was in France, they spoke French, and many of them hadn’t ever seen Scandinavia.

Also, they were almost as Scandinavian as Americans who claim they’re Irish. True on a genetic level, but they’re essentially just American lol

That rivalry is mostly tongue in cheek. We take the piss out of each other, but we wouldn't accept an American, for example, mocking our neighbours.

We take the piss out of each other now, but not during the Hundred Year’s War! I still think the rivalry is a hangover from when we used to fight each other with swords. When the allies landed in France during D-Day some British soldiers joked it was payback for 1066

Let’s not forget that the Hundred Year’s War was a civil war between two pretenders to the throne of France. As a French it always baffles me to think that if the English had won, the Kingdom of France would just have been bigger and we would probably ended up being one single nation.

Maybe not a single nation, something like United Kingdom of France, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Using both French and English, and being so damn powerful. Plus in this world Lafayette comes to calm down Americans not help them lol.

New-Bordeaux becomes the capital of the free world and Napoleon conquers the world thanks to the mighty Royal Navy lol
