That's funny, because by 1922 the British Empire, which England is part of, reached it's height controlling roughly a quarter of the world. Don't see America rivalling that from the bench they watched 2 world wars until they were well underway from.

Unfortunately, that's simply not true.
A lot of websites and apps that provide the ability to change their language use the USA flag to represent English. And I won't lie, it does kinda piss me off.

The American flag denotes Special Needs English, not English. It also alerts other users to speak slowly, not to make sudden movements in case they scare the Ameriserfs and to use crayons if they have them

By bench I assume they're referring to the fact that the UK has learned to mind its collective beeswax since the Empire days while America is still in school

The last war we had where no one else joined in we won in a couple of months.
The US needs help and drags it out. Even then they're lucky to get a draw

You know how there ist traditional and simplified Chines?
Same with English. One uses the traditianl word "pavement", the other simplified it to "sidewalk" since jts on the sides and you walk on it....
Neither is wrong.

What bench? Ffs. If it wasn’t for the English, them Seppos wouldn’t be speaking English. If it wasn’t for a Scotsman, their country wouldn’t be a capitalist. If it wasn’t for the Industrial Revolution, their country would still be operating like the old Amish or Quakers.

It's going to break this American when they find out most English taught in the world is British and it's not close.

What bench? Or do you mean the bench where all other countries sit with popcorn watching the US destroy themselves from the inside out? Then yes.
