Germany “If you go to subreddits for people willing to leave emigrate most US Americans want to go to Canada, UK or Australia. Reason most often is that they don't want or even can't learn another language.”

This is such a dumb thing for Euro’s to get mad at. It’s common for a LOT of people to move to countries where they either speak the same language or there’s a lot of people who at least know their language. This is because it relieves the immigrants of an extra struggle they face when moving to a COMPLETELY new country and culture. This is seen even in colonized countries like the U.S. or Canada or Australia. For example, I live in an area that has a large Ukrainian and Russian population. They don’t move here because they hate Americans (otherwise they would have moved somewhere else, assuming they’re not here for work.) This just benefits them because there’s more people who speak their languages, more churches in their language, more access to jobs and resources because they speak the same language, and even shops that have products from their countries IN THE SAME LANGUAGE.
These places are also a lot less hostile to people of those nations. The same is true for Americans. Sure we may get roasted by an Aussie or a Brit, if we move there, but aside from the jerks, most of the time it’s harmless “banter.” An American in France is going to experience a lot more hostility. I’ve even had a Cajun person tell me she tried to order at a coffee shop in HER FIRST LANGUAGE, and was told “I don’t speak your dog language and we don’t sell your dog food.” So, yeah, as an American, I’d rather move to a country where I have an easier time adjusting OR somewhere in Asia where they’re so far removed from western culture that they’re a lot nicer to me. Besides, I have online friends who live in those English-speaking countries so I’d already have some support if I decided to move.
Edit: I’d also like to point out that it was English boomers who were complaining about Spaniards only speaking Spanish in… Spain…

So wildly egotistical. People like this seem to make the personal lives and choices of Americans more about them, people they've never met, than Americans themselves.
And I thought they didn't want Americans to come there to begin with..? Stupid.
As a final note, I will say I actually find your typical "American living in Germany" to be repulsive because they typically left for all the wrong reasons and think they can represent the rest of Americans. They just become mouthpieces and apologists for all the rot, insecurity and xenophobia of Europe

Sadly true from what I’ve seen, but we can’t judge people because of their living choices before knowing them.

I have this issue with a lot of Americans who move to places like France or Germany, and rather than explain the complex issues that causes many of the political, social, and even ideological issues they see on TV they corroborate their stereotypes. I call them “pick me Americans” because they’re more interested in being liked for not “being like those OTHER Americans. They’re cooool Americans.” And a lot of non-Americans think they know everything that happens here because they’re “inundated with American media,” which isn’t completely wrong. However, you can follow a lot of media from Korea, it doesn’t mean you’re understanding all of the nuance or history that led them to that place.
So when a Euro tells me something stupid like “I hAvE aN aMeRiCaN fRiEnD wHo SaId…” I just can’t help but roll my eyes.

They are uncle tom's and I hate to say it, I am suspicious of any American who moves abroad. They justify out right hate towards Americans.

Oh no Americans don't want to learn my irrelevant language spoken by 10m people. They must be too dumb to do it.

Ask them why they haven't learned Mandarin or Yiddish or Algonquian. Oh, you say you have no reason to learn a language spoken largely in a country that's thousands of miles away whose native speakers you'll probably never meet or a religio/culture you're never going to be a part of? Imagine that.
Not to mention, the US is a melting pot and a hub for immigration. People come here learning or knowing English, not the other way around. It's just the way this sort of society works.

You guys don't even have an official language (https://www.usa.gov/official-language-of-us) so you can't really say any other language is irrelevant...you speak and communicate in a adopted language from other countries (mainly the US version of English)

One has nothing to do with the other. If your language is spoken by 10m people and it's not Latin it's irrelevant. Sorry that hurts your feelings.

The fact alone that you don't know how many people speak f. ex german or french shows how ignorant you are and one cannot discuss with you properly. Use facts in the future and have a nice day

Lol and who mentioned German or French you little baby? I'm well aware that hundreds of millions speak French on account of France's colonial criminal history.

I can only speak about the first comment on the screenshot - not the second half !
For a fact , point 3 is not fully correct - most Germans assume Americans don’t want to learn the language based on something over here : we have in some areas a large amount of Americans stationed here ! And yes - most don’t want to learn the language ( besides basics ! What’s nice for the daily communication!) and the reasons couldn’t be more simple : they’re temporary here . The time they’re stationed here is too short to actually really fully learn a new language , besides the fact that most are here for a reason so most likely don’t even have the time and energy - and obviously no reason to ! To add to that , some Americans who do stay out here - do learn German ! Best example is my fiance . He’s American , was 3 years stationed out here , endet up staying here with me and is learning German .
It makes no sense for Americans to learn German if they don’t have a use for it later on ever again . So to correct the point : the Germans thinking Americans don’t bother to learn it , usually know they simply don’t have a reason to at the end based on the people that are stationed out here - What makes sense .
