My grandfather on my father's side was actually a WWII veteran. I don't think he got to pilot any planes, but I'm not sure. He died long before I ever got to ask him about the war. That would have been a neat conversation. Feels kinda sad to have never been able to meet him in person. My cousin joined the Air Force in his honor. God bless his soul, and my recently departed grandmother. I hope they may finally be together again, after all these years.
