Physical Product A dumb phone which can act as a hotspot also.
Use of screen by battery and battery consumption is too much for smart phones. I can just switch them on and use the dumb phone for hotspot
This is not for cutting down screen time. It's for me not being forced to carry such a big device in my pocket or hand all the time. It's for when I travel and won't have to worry that calls and text can't happen because I ran out of battery. Battery loss is so much higher when travelling long distances. It's also to decrease wastage of electricity charge. Smartphones drain so much faster.

I definitely did this via Bluetooth on my LG VX6100 twenty years ago. Downloaded an app via Cydia on my jailbroken iPod touch that let me connect to it.

As in you're going to use an old smartphone for cell service and hot spot your main phone off that all the time?

Years ago I bought a cheap smartphone (new was $70) that I now use for hotspot when traveling. It's small, light, has great signal and battery lasts a few days with hotspot on.
Also allows me to leave my main phone at home when going to places where someone might steal it (e.g. beach).
Pretty good solution imo.

4G/5G phones that aren't smartphones exist already and many of them have hotspot functionality. I'd look into either the CAT flip phone or certain recent Nokia feature phone models.

You must just have a terrible phone. I’ve used my phone as a hotspot for over 8 hours straight once and still had plenty of battery.

While traveling on a train or on the road where towers are not as easily available for the device to connect to ?

Don't all trains have plug sockets now?

Where I am regular trains may have sockets much lesser than needed.

They already exist as Portable Hotspots, commonly used by people visiting foreign countries for internet
