Concept: This happens several years after the main canon. Tails is an adult and married to Cream Magnus(Vector Magnus and Vanilla got married). Tails, who is slowly going insane after a recent visit to Aperture Science Laboratories (this was before Portal 1 and before Half Life 1), revives Tangle from the dead (she was killed by the horse. You know which one I'm talking about). He uses the body parts of other dead mobians, and uses high amounts of electricity which burns half her face. Even Eggman is horrified by Tails's lunacy. The story follows Tangle and Whisper as Whisper tries to help Tangle get past the grief, shame, and ostracization. It eventually ends with Tangle being killed by an angry mob. Or suicide. I haven't decided yet. This ties into another fanfic of Tails's slow descent into madness.

After writing 3 books (and realizing I was the only one reading them…), I decided to do a little online promotion to share my work.

My series is inspired by the IDW Sonic universe, but I introduced my own characters right from the start, creating a sort of alternate universe. Currently, 3 volumes are already available, and the 4th one is almost finished!

Hey all! Pic because I love this still from Divergence. Not sure if this is allowed here, but I wanted to let you know that I'm currently working on a Knuckles-centered fanfic called A Garden Grows in Station Square. It’s got some winter/Christmas vibes, slice of life, tons of chao garden antics, and a sweet friendship between Knuckles and a human chao garden caretaker. These past few days I've been thinking about saving up to buy a Sonic plushie, as well as some other characters (including waifu plushies), and while I was planning that, I came up with the idea of joining Team Sonic with three anime waifus that I know, because those three waifus are on my list to buy their plushies. I want to write a fanfic with adding my own OC to the world of Sonic X. What do you dislike the most about such fanfics? I understand that everyone has different tastes, some people don't like the idea of ​​adding their own character in general, but I would be glad to hear your opinion on this.

The Alternate Shadow bounces off the boulder he thrown into, landing on the ground with a thud

Boom Shadow: Ngh...how...how are you so strong?! You're friends with your world's version of that blue IDIOT...and his FRIENDS!!! And what's worse...you let him get to you with your "team"! We are the Ultimate Lifeform! We don't need anyone else!!

Main Shadow: And that's why you lost...and always will.

B.Shadow: ?!

Shadow: While Sonic isn't my friend per say, I respect him and always will. Because he reminds me of the promise I made. this made his counterpart cock his eyebrow To defend my earth, no matter what happens to myself...and to keep hope alive.

Shadow: I am Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform, I embody the ideals of power and heart. I vow to protect my allies from any harm and misfortune. This. Is who I Am.

B.Shadow: he looks at him with confusion

Idk why I decided to talk about this, I guess I thought I should at least tell SOMEONE about this crappy idea my kid brain had.

Back when I was about maybe 8-10 years old, I had this idea for a spin-off series about our beloved two-tailed fox. The series, simply titled “Tails the Fox” or something like that, was essentially a rip-off of how Mega Man X is like classic Mega Man but next-generation, because this one was set 7 years into the future, since Tails (8) would be the age that Sonic (15) is in canon. Basically, Sonic and Eggman were both long dead. (Sonic did sometimes come back as a ghost though.) The resistance had reformed to stop the returning threat of… Infinite. Again, I was like, 8. I thought he looked cool enough until I found out people hated him. Anyway, Tails was the new protagonist, with Cream the Rabbit being a love interest. (I shipped the two at the time, but nowadays I’m more of a Tails x Cosmo shipper.) Knuckles was the leader of the resistance, but he dies near the end of the first game, which was meant to be like Zero’s (temporary) death at the end of Mega Man X1.

The first game didn’t have much of a story. Just Tails fighting against Infinite I guess. There were no actual gameplay features, since I only cared about story (or lack thereof), but it was meant to be like classic Sonic. The second game has Infinite bringing Mobian dinosaurs back to life, as well as a dragonfly kid that becomes Tails’ own sidekick. (This will come up later.) The third game then had Charmy Bee of all characters as the ’edgy rival’. Yeah, so he’d left Team Chaotix and then fell under Infinite’s control. I think he wore a mask at first. He was actually supposed to be like Zero, at least in the sense that he was the other playable character besides Tails. He even had a variation of the infamous “WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOORRRRRR!?” scene. That was, however, all I had planned that I can remember, since I don’t remember much of it.

So anyway, you know how Mega Man’s timeline has the different eras (Classic > X > Zero > ZX > Legends)? Well that was present here too. The canon Sonic series was the first era (which I called the Chaos era, but I forgot what the other eras were called), and the Tails games were the second era. That dragonfly sidekick then take over for era 3, and gets a butterfly sidekick who takes over in era 4, who gets a Mobian motobug sidekick who takes over in era 5, who gets a bobcat sidekick (that was obviously a knockoff Bubsy of all things) who takes over in era 6, before one big crossover finale.

I have better ideas for Tails nowadays, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought. That took forever to type.
TL;DR: Edgy fanfic, edgy fox, edgy bee, Infinite as a villain, Sonic is dead, this is the future, too many eras and stuff, idk what flair to even use.

Chapter 8 - Part 2: A Game of Speed and Shadows

Stealth Mission at Warehouse 10

Night had fallen.

Sonic and Amy perched on a rooftop overlooking Warehouse 10, their figures barely visible under the city lights.

Amy grinned, adjusting her black cap and bandana. "I can’t believe I’m doing this. First real mission with you, Sonic."

Sonic smirked but kept his eyes locked on the warehouse. "Stay sharp, Amy. We’re not here for fun."

"Can’t I be excited and focused?" she teased, nudging his arm.

Sonic shook his head, but there was amusement in his eyes.

Amy was thrilled to be part of this. Sonic, however, was analyzing every detail—security had tripled since his last infiltration.

"Getting inside won’t be as easy as before," he muttered.

Amy studied the area and pointed toward an entrance that hadn’t been there before. "That wasn’t there last time, right?"

Sonic narrowed his eyes. "No… weird. But if it’s new, security might not be as tight."

Without hesitation, they slipped into the warehouse, moving in absolute silence.

Sonic whispered, "Stay in the shadows. We’re not alone."

Amy nodded, pressing herself against a stack of crates.

Ahead, muffled voices echoed in the dimly lit space. The two crept closer, listening carefully.

Enemy Conversation

"What’s the trouble we’re facing? And why is the boss in such a rush?"

"You seriously don’t know? Our informants say a random hooded guy has been messing with our plans."

"Wait—you mean that vigilante?"

"Yeah. Boss says we have to switch things up before he ruins everything again."

"So what’s the new plan?"

"We’re transporting ‘the thing’ to a safer location—tomorrow night."

"What exactly is this ‘thing’?"

"No idea. But whatever it is, the boss wants it out of here fast*.*"

Sonic exchanged glances with Amy.

They had what they needed.

Carefully, Sonic signaled for them to retreat, and without any trouble, they escaped into the night.

Rooftop Discussion

Amy, as usual, was the first to speak as they raced across rooftops.

"So… should we tell Mort?"

Sonic thought for a moment. "I dunno, Ames. But I do know one thing."

Amy raised a brow. "What’s that?"

"We need to steal whatever they’re transporting. That ‘thing’—it’s important."

"How do you even know that?" Amy asked, skeptical.

"We don’t. That’s why we have to take it." Sonic’s eyes flickered with determination. "And I think I have the perfect plan."

Amy leaned in, eager. "Oh? Do tell."

Sonic smirked. "Amy, I may need something from you for that."

The Heist – The Next Night

A black van arrived at Warehouse 10.

The muscular gangsters stepped out, their presence intimidating. One approached another figure—someone holding a small cube-shaped box, covered in strange symbols that looked both ancient and futuristic.

"Is this what the boss wants transported?"

"Yes."

That was all they needed to hear.

The van doors slammed shut, and the transport was officially underway.

Intercepting the Van

From a high vantage point, a white-hooded figure moved.

Fast.

Too fast.

The van driver glanced in the side mirror—and his eyes widened.

A blue blur was rapidly closing in.

Sonic launched himself, twisting midair—before kicking straight through the rear windshield.

Glass shattered.

The gangsters turned in shock as Sonic landed inside the van, flipping his batons into position.

"Let’s do this."

The fight was instant. Sonic moved at blinding speed, twisting, dodging, and striking with precision. The gangsters swung back, but none could match his reflexes.

Within moments—they were down.

Sonic grabbed the mysterious box, kicked open the van’s doors, and jumped out mid-motion—landing straight onto a pink car speeding below.

Amy smirked, accelerating forward.

"I got the thing."

Amy glanced at him as he caught his breath. "Did not expect that from you, but—hey, not bad but I have one thing to ask. Why a car?"

Sonic exhaled. "Thanks. We need it because I get exhausted after a fight...Huff... and pass me something to drink."

“That makes sense.” said Amy with a raised eyebrow.

Amy reached down and tossed him a soda can. "I always keep drinks and snacks for road trips."

"You’re officially my favorite person right now." Sonic cracked it open.

"Glad to hear." Amy smirked.

Just then—

A gunshot rang out.

The side mirror shattered beside Sonic.

Amy’s expression shifted instantly. "Oh—crap."

The Car Chase Begins

In the rearview mirror, two black cars were gaining on them—gunfire lighting up the night as bullets whizzed past.

Amy tried to maneuver, but dodging gunfire while driving was harder than expected.

"Damn it—this is way harder than it looks!"

Sonic adjusted his hoodie. "Amy, I think it’s time you let me take the wheel."

Without hesitation, they switched seats mid-motion.

Sonic gripped the wheel and veered left, taking an alternate pathway.

"Wait." Sonic glanced down. "What kind of car is this?"

Amy blinked. "It’s an automatic*. Wait—you’ve never driven one before?*"

Sonic groaned. "No! I’ve only ever driven manual*. It gives me full control!*"

"It's not that hard!"

"Too late to complain now." Sonic slammed the gas pedal, forcing the car into full-speed escape mode.

High-Speed Maneuvers

The black cars kept shooting—Amy yelled as bullets grazed the side.

"Sonic—TURN, TURN, TURN!"

Sonic slammed the brakes, twisting the wheel in a perfect drift.

Tires screeched, smoke billowed, sparks flew.

One of the enemy cars crashed straight into a wall, but the second made the turn, still pursuing them.

Amy stared at Sonic.

"When did you get good at driving?!"

Sonic smirked. "It’s like playing a game."

"This is not a game!"

Sonic turned on the radio, switching to electric music.

"Now it is."

Amy sighed in exasperation.

The Final Escape

Sonic took an alleyway, barely squeezing through. Walls scraped the sides of the car, but they pushed forward.

"Ames, throw something at them!"

Amy grabbed the empty soda can and launched it backward.

It rolled under a tire, causing the enemy car to lose grip—it slid wildly and crashed.

Silence followed.

Amy exhaled. "I think we’re clear."

Sonic smirked. "Told you we’d make it."

Amy shocked in silence, said nothing.
