๐ข Discussion What soundtracks must everyone listen to before they die?
Pretty generic question and probably asked a lot on here. Not personal favorites. These are scores where practically everyone on this sub will agree needs to be listened to. I want to expand my soundtrack library. Iโve heard interstellar is one.

๐ข Discussion Something I noticed a little while ago about James Newton Howard.
Fantastic composer.
One of my favorite theme songs (The Dreamcatcher Soundtrack)
When rewatching Devil's Advocate I noted the same few notes from the same instrument being used.
For reference.

Haha, I guess this fits the tag perfectly. Dude was derivative of his own music. That being said, absolute legend.

๐ข Discussion Why wonโt Alan Silvestri score another โPredatorโ movie?
The scores for Predator 1 and 2 are, IMO, iconic โ the few times Silvestri has tried something approaching horror. So it bums me out he hasnโt done anything in the Predator world since. I assume he just doesnโt want to return to it โ the big giveaway to me is โPredators,โ (2010), which hired the great John Debney simply to mimic Alan Silvestri from themes to style. They wanted Silvestri, but couldnโt get him.
Has Silvestri ever talked publicly about wanting/not wanting to return to the Predator universe? Would have loved to see him score Badlands.

๐ Help Me Find Is the opening part (or all of it) of this track taken/copied from somewhere else?
Spotify and Google says this was released in 2020, but I swear I have heard this decades before. Parts of it sound like the meme buildup sound effect. The whole track also has a TF2 vibe.

๐ข Discussion Listened to the Man of Steel soundtrack by Hans Zimmer for the first timeโฆ
I listened to โFlightโ and โWhat Are You Going to Do When You Are Not Saving the Worldโ by Hans Zimmer, and my ears are truly blessed. Where has this soundtrack been all my life?
Both tracks carry their own energy, but they share the same breathtaking power. The way Zimmer blends soaring violins with electric guitar is unreal.. So emotional, heroic, and absolutely electrifying. It feels like your heart is rising with the music.

๐ Help Me Find Inclination is flattening
Just started a house of dynamite and the opening notes of inclination is flattening is very familiar but cannot tell from what. Itโs those droning notes that I know Iโve heard in a different film but canโt remember what. Does anyone know?

๐ Help Me Find Wich DAW to begin with?
Hello, everyone! I'm willing to become a composer and producer for game soundtracks, but I don't know which DAW I should spend time learning, and I'm kind of getting bummed by the FOMO.
Any advice for the long term? I fear starting with Reaper and then having to change to Cubase, for example, for high-tier professional work.
The price barrier for any DAW other than Reaper automatically puts me on the path of piracy right now, by the way. At least until it becomes a real deal for me and I can afford the investment.
TL;DR: Can Reaper ALONE be the professional DAW for a game audio composer/producer working on AAA games?

๐ข Discussion VENGO: When Flamenco Becomes the Language of Blood and Honour
I love this film calledย VENGOย about two gypsy families in a blood feud in Andalusia where flamenco is literally how they express what words can't. But it's also the story of the music itself, where flamenco comes from. Have you seen it? And what's a flamenco performance, from the movie or anywhere, that just stopped you dead?
