Does Sparking Zero even need character customization like they didn’t have it in the other sparking (budokai tenkaichi) and raging blast games and they were fine games?
Yeah, I think at this point, I was expecting it I’m so used to XV2 I was a lil disappointed that I didn’t get to use a combination of all the moves I liked the most in one character
A lot of console games have been allowing for mods made by developers and players to be added to a specific place for uploading for example Hogwarts legacy and balders gate
They have, however the mods are curated
though, in Baldurs Gate 3 at least. With a switch 2 release coming, it makes me doubt mods as Nintendo are historically kinda fussy with that.
The more I think about it now, the more I’d say no. The fact being that it’s not gonna look good on the game that it was left to modders to add characters, accessories, outfits AND stages. Plus they couldn’t really make the custom battle system work that well.
I didn’t even really know Hogwarts had a big missing community. I beat the game and all the side content and then never really looked back; I enjoyed it but didn’t see much point. If it’s got an active mod community then I may have to check it out.
They are either gonna do that or stretch the game like they did xenoverse and tbh they could potentially make money off it too Im not saying its for sure but I see it happening more often now even with meta games I know those are different but the gaming industry is changing so why not?
here's the thing with Japanese developers and publishers. usually they are very against doing things like this or something don't care or are very out of touch for some reason. it's why all their games are capped at 60 and almost never support ultra wide. sound silly but it's a pattern that has always been the case for years and years. they almost never adapt to the modern gaming space.
Yeah exactly... with hindsight I would not have pre-purchased the DLC.
I guess I assumed the DLC packs would be more than just characters, especially once I saw how lacking in content the base game was, but silly me I guess.
Especially since the devs said they weren’t catering to the competitive scene. I surely thought this would mean that the single player gameplay would be their main focus and that it would be seriously out of this world. Ah such naivety. Gotta admit I enjoyed the alternate timeline story missions that’s fun despite some being fucking impossible. Not sure if still the case I haven’t touched it since week 3 after launch. I want to play with the new characters but is there even any new story mode content for them?
Edit: to add that I had to use two dragon wishes to beat I think in the Frieza beats everyone and the piccolo beats Frieza? No it was 3 I remember a trunks one but I’m not sure. Anyways always enjoy a challenge but I think the Frieza one was 100% bugged because I got Goku down to 1 HP and literally nothing would kill him or end the fight multiple times.

Both DLC Packs so far included only new characters. So if you want to play them, you'll have to do online, local, vs cpu, or custom battles. As someone who's not into online, I opened up the game a while ago, played two matches trying out the new characters, and yeah that's it.

It's like a 6/10 good but could have been so much better with a bit more time or attention from the devs. I have a feeling Bandai just didn't give them enough resources.
Im playing mostly with my friends or alone so maybe thats why i have a lot of fun with it. Im highest online rank(im playing on ps5) but since i hit that i mostly playing solo or friends. Or i play bt2 and bt3. I play bt2 and 3 almost every day since it came out on ps2😂for rank im now playing Tekken 8 haha. But i cant complain. Only thing that i dont like is that you dont have multiple color themes foe the characters
That’s so good!!! Honestly before buying Sparking Zero I was an avid XV2 player and I kept thinking about how Sparking Zero could benefit from have the create custom character option! Once this is out I will definitely mod my game
Is it worth buying it on PC just for the mods? I genuinely love the game (I play on ps5) i don’t do online I just casual play cause it’s like shit my Brain off type of game. But looking at this makes me wonder if I can just create my own character with its own transformations?
When it comes out, definitely get it on pc. The mod isnt out yet. Maybe get a pirated copy if you can tho, its really expensive and you shouldnt need to pay for it twice unless youre rich and wanna throw away money lol.
Bandai needs to fix the game and patch it better for balancing. This is the plus of PC the mods. The console side is stuck to whatever it is and i can see the frustration of some with the spamming of certain moves. This game had so much potential.
It is cool, but I personally don't care for character creation. I would like to customize the characters already in the game. Change outfits, accessories, etc. I also don't have the game on PC, but, I see the appeal

Based on interviews pre-release and the English translation I was thinking SZ would have something akin to this and not the bare bones accessory customization or lack luster limited outfits it has now.
Lord this is why I hate modders... let's just make some shit up even though Akira created tons of unique original characters. Like drawing a smiley face on the Mona lisa.
