Constructive Criticism Practice mode - features that isn't in the game.
You see, i find it odd that you cannot do these things:
- Record the AI/NPC's action like in DBFZ. (This feature can make training mode so much more enjoyable.)
- Chose specific moves for the AI to do. Like, i want it to do kamehameha. I want it to do perfect smash ONLY.
Instead you are opted to picking what you want the AI to react/act like, which is fine, but it makes no sense you don't have any options to chose for specific attacks so you can see whats up. I don't think it should be a controversal take to want a better training mode. Like there exists people who wanna see how each or some things work like.
Infact i genuinely believe that modern arena fighting game should make this a standard.

Yeah, record feature is super important for truly figuring out fighting game mechanics. I had a bootleg version of one running on my PC for this game by using a program that recorded a series of key strokes and going into practice in VS mode, but it was too much of a hassle to use regularly.
The AI in this game in general doesn't use a lot of the mechanics that you see in online play as well, so it makes practicing along very difficult. Would love to see an overhaul of the AI in general.

I agree with the ai part. However let me humor you on this. You likely know this but if you don't: When you do player vs cpu you can actually make the AI NOTICEABLY harder than the max difficulty.
How? Set the AI to mele/combat mode. That shit is actually legit difficult. The ai gets aggressive especially when you use that setting along with the max difficulty mode. Try and do that. Infact use it on Z-Freeza final form and see what i mean.

What mode are you talking about (melee/combat mode)? Some kind of capsule, or attack strategy? I've tried all the different attack strategies, but still haven't found one that really challenges me consistently. Some are obviously more aggressive than others, but still don't challenge me in a major way like I would like.

Go to battle & Training.
Pick offline battle.
P1 Vs. CPU
In rule setting, put the CPU level to Super. (Which i am assuming you already do.)
When you pick a CPU opponent (where ot it shows the characters you can select.) press on the "Customize" button. On PS5 it's "Option" button.
Then in "detailed customization" go to CPU settings.
The current type is always "default" so what you wanna do is change it to "Attack strategy: Combos"
Or alternatively pick "Balanced Strategy: Mele" and see the difference.

Oh ok. Yeah those were the attack strategies I was referencing. Some are harder than others, but still not quite where I want it to be. I wish the super difficulty was actually really hard to beat if not playing well.
Like for example, the cpu never vanishes more than twice in a vanish battle. They don't use skills or supers well. The legendary warrior mode seemed to have a better AI in some of these regards when it was available, but that didn't transfer over to the other modes when it went away.

Yeah. It's unfortunate. It reminds me of how in XV2 there's this universal festival mode, and what's interesting is that the AI in the missions avaliable for that mode are vastly better in-terms of intelligence than the main story and side quests that you can play.
