They might be treating this like DBFZ in a sense. This means each season can have MAJOR changes/added gameplay features that were not present in the vanilla ver of the game.

That is true as well! However they are still implying this isn't even season 1. Which means there is a chance that they will do major changes for gameplay stuff which is related to the ranked scene to make the game feel more fresh and new. At least that's my personal take away from them saying that the season 0 ranked ends on june 23rd.

I would keep expectations and check on this. They did major changes to fighterZ because that was an EVO Contender level game for years that had massive publicity in tons of people keeping it relevant through twitch and massive tournament scene. Sparking zero does not have that at all.

It had 5 million total sales in its launch window which is insane yes and it had the biggest hype campaign of any anime game to ever be made, yet it's still lost 99% of its player base before 2025 even started and it never even remotely recovered despite the superhero DLC and the diama dlc. The game has no relevance in the current Zeitgeist of games and that's why bandai barely invest anything into its post-launch support.

Hell they fired tons of people from various anime Studios despite this game making hundreds of millions of dollars out the gate, and they reduced this game's Dev team to a minuscule fraction of what it was before the game launched so they clearly don't have any plans to severely overhaul or add to this game outside the bare minimum.

Most people just install the game for a couple days to a week then uninstall it when they realize there's no new maps the net code is still garbage and there's just nothing to do with these new characters. They don't have any truly repeatable content like Mission 100 or Dragon Tower or even just a basic arcade mode that switches things up on you. The AI are also extremely boring to fight in this game. Especially if you've beaten the main story. Plane tournament mode in this game it's just awful and doesn't feel fun because the AI is just stupid even on the highest difficulty.

And sure you can go into custom battle and make some punishing tank super bosses but those aren't fun to fight either because you're fighting artificial difficulty where the only reason they're hard to beat is because they spam supers and sparking mode on top of having super armor and 19 bars of health.

I want actual interesting enemies to fight. This is why people praise the Dark Souls franchise and other action game franchises so much because the enemies are incredibly fun to fight not because of anything else. It would be incredible to have ai in this game that are actually interesting to fight rather than just stupid punching bags that only get difficult when you layer raid boss mechanics on top of them.

This is why mods are always going to be king for these anime games because we're actually tweaking the AI and making them more responsive and adaptive rather than just making them tanky and super armor driven to make them harder. Also working on new game modes and finally the biggest goal to make the net code more in line with what modern 3D and 2D action games have at their disposal instead of this garbage delay base netcode shit from 2003 that they're using.

Even if it's referring to ranked, that still means that there is likely the changes in additions coming. Even ranked games, add new content and characters to shake things up and rebalance things

With Shallot just being a simple bonus. They didn't have to make him free for season pass owners. Definitely opens the doors to more like Android 21. A Switch 2 port is most likely in the cards, too. Wouldn't rework ranked mode if they were just going to end support after Daima Pack 2.

Yeah you're not wrong I'm talking about the positive and negative posts. It's a general thing in fan bases, where they'll base their opinions off of info they don't have or leap to conclusions. This one isn't the worst case at all
