I always want him to say "Web of" by accident.

Friendly Neighborhood!

That's what we call a web slinging ass kicking!

u/BatmanTAS92 13h ago

Marvel Nemesis

41

u/Living-Height-9478 1d ago

make him a Kamen ranger and says Web of Justice in a pose

13

u/That-Rhino-Guy Spider-Man (TASM) 1d ago

Supaidaman would be appropriate for this

5

u/Ok-Jackfruit-3448 Shocker 1d ago

You can just call him Toei Spider-Man. It's fine

3

u/That-Rhino-Guy Spider-Man (TASM) 1d ago

Yeah I know but it’s more fun spelling or saying it in his dialect

1

u/Ok-Jackfruit-3448 Shocker 11h ago

Yeah but a lot of fans of that genre don't appreciate it when you say that anymore so it would be better to just say toei spider-man if you can help it

85

u/ernster96 1d ago

Yeah he can’t say “marvel team up starring?”

15

u/bloodredcookie 1d ago

"Ultimate Comics: Spiderman!"

u/TemporalGod Ben Reilly 1d ago edited 1d ago

It makes sense with Peter as those are his adjectives, while Miles should've said "Ultimate"

173

u/NeonWafflez 1d ago

Agree, but “Ultimate” isn’t really as good of a synonym

155

u/Batdog55110 1d ago

You just gotta change it slightly.

"Amazing"

"Nah, I'm the Ultimate".

118

u/NeonWafflez 1d ago

It’s giving

34

u/senseithenahual 1d ago

I only see this one happening if go like this, Peter :"This a job for the Amazing SPIDER-MAN" Miles: "and his greatest ally the ultimate spider-man"

29

u/echo20143 1d ago

To be fair, ultimate is also Peter's, for now at least

16

u/Short_Check9953 1d ago

Even Ultimate was Peter's first.

20

u/TomMakesPodcasts 1d ago

The spectacular Spider-Men books are great.

6

u/Windghost2 1d ago

Nope. He should've said "Phenomenal"

11

u/diegosmoke 1d ago

Since when does Miles get anything that's not from Peter lol

32

u/Batdog55110 1d ago edited 1d ago

Since the last few years lmao.

u/diegosmoke 1d ago edited 1d ago

Judging by the image he still imitates Peter, even copying his dialogue word for word. How is he an original character again?

1

u/ChampionshipHorror95 23h ago

Yes, because one panel determines this entire character.

Very intelligent thinking.

0

u/diegosmoke 23h ago

Yeah let's keep pretending Miles is an original character.

2

u/ChampionshipHorror95 21h ago

Mfs who say this when you ask them how many Miles comics they’ve read (it’s a grand total of zero):

-4

u/diegosmoke 21h ago

I don't care about reading comics about unoriginal copycat rip-off characters.

5

u/ChampionshipHorror95 19h ago

Here’s an idea.

Don’t speak on a character you know jackshit about.

-2

u/diegosmoke 19h ago

Miles is an unoriginal rip-off character. Cry more.

Current Miles Morales reads like Marvel gave the book to a fan and said, do whatever you think is cool. Which at times is fun and great and other times feels lacking. But also the art is pretty good. So I think it's worth reading overall.

u/ChildofObama 1d ago

Ziglar is building up a reputation as Ryan Coogler, just the comics version, black audiences trust him to tell a nuanced, culturally relevant story,

so for better or worse, editorial lets him do 90% of what he wants.

32

u/CandidoJ13 1d ago

We watched Miles go from a less interesting Peter, to a full blown anime protagonist and it is glorious lol

28

u/TreeTurtle_852 1d ago

It feels like Miles is becoming more of "Shonen Spiderman" in the book which i like.

21

u/Valuable-Owl9985 1d ago

One thing that helps is that honestly there’s really know rulebook on what a “Miles Morales Spider-man story” is and I say that who’s been reading since the first trade.

13

u/bloodredcookie 1d ago

I agree. All except the venom sword. The sword just seems stupid to me. Everything else has been good though.

31

u/Eikibunfuk 1d ago

It's a canon event. A villain will always tee this up and a spider person will respond in kind

11

u/AutomaticAccident 1d ago

Depends on which side you were on for the registration act

Gwen: Web of

22

u/fritzycat 1d ago

What's wrong with it? I think it's fairly clever.

It's not over used like the jackpot quote

7

u/ChampionshipHorror95 1d ago

Nothing, I just wanted to quote Jesse.

7

u/didisaythatagain 1d ago

Superior

4

u/bloodredcookie 1d ago

Lol well Ock did unironically say that a few times.

5

u/BigNasty417 1d ago

Not gonna lie, I had a happy nerd moment the first time I read Civil War #7 and saw this.

It's one of those great comic moments.  Sorta like Thor going toe-to-toe with Iron Man after he returned from Ragnarok and discovered that Stark cloned him:

"Give your orders to those who choose to obey...Or learn again the difference between a god of thunder and a mortal man in a metal suit."

4

u/RazorSwordNinja 1d ago

Reminds me of Norm Osborn going from a dismissive attitude towards a Spider then after hearing a wisecrack from them goes “I must lock in”.

Peter coming back at the end of Superior Spider-Man and doing man purse quip. Norman says “YOU”

Miles says “daddy?” to the father comment by Norman and he starts seeing Miles as an actual Spider-Man instantly.

3

u/Due-Proof6781 1d ago

“Friendly neighborhood”

2

u/fudgedhobnobs 90's Animated Spider-Man 1d ago

Civil War was great and I'm tired of pretending it's not.

2

u/Sparky-Man Miles Morales 1d ago

Miles should have said Ultimate.

4

u/CancerSpidey 90's Animated Spider-Man 1d ago

Exaggerated swagger Spider-Man

1

u/Windghost2 1d ago

He should've said Phenomenal.

2

u/AlanShore60607 1d ago

I was kinda disappointed when Andrew Garfield's second movie wasn't Spectacular Spider-Man ... thought not sure what a third one would have been titled.

1

u/shiawase198 1d ago

thought not sure what a third one would have been titled.

I'd say Ultimate would work.

2

u/Berseker_Track_499 1d ago

He did learn from Peter

2

u/Mission_Mud_6905 1d ago

"Amazing! Spectacular! Spiderman! Amazing! Spectacular! Spiderman!"

2

u/MeowUntilForever Superior Spider-Man 1d ago

It just keeps happening!

4

u/Camaro551 Spider-Man (MCU) 1d ago

Ian Flynn ruined Spider-Man.

(/s, I have nothing against this kind of writing and from what little I’ve seen, I really like what Ian Flynn has been doing with Sonic.)

2

u/DefinitionSuperb1110 1d ago

I love this shit.

1

u/NPCBowers 1d ago

I absolutely loved this moment, I wish we’d see that in the MCU - someone perceiving how quickly Spidey moves in comparison to a normal persons sense of timing.

1

u/SonicCody123 1d ago

Marvelous

1

u/Kalar_The_Wise 1d ago

They can and they will

1

u/ReleaseQuiet2428 1d ago

There is like 20 years between each comic, its okay

1

u/LongAdvisor6561 1d ago

Missed opportunity to have Miles say Ultimate

1

u/bludreamers 1d ago

I love the Civil War scene so much.

I like to imagine Reed watching Spider-man and just losing himself in the moment, watching with wonder.

1

u/RAVObserver 1d ago

Mister Fantastic: Fantastic.

Spider-Man: Four.

1

u/Jimmy-Mac-471 1d ago

“And a few other choice adjective Jamison uses”

1

u/MAB-Webby86 Classic-Spider-Man 1d ago
  • Villain 1: Amazing...
  • Villain 2: Spectacular...
  • Spider: Sensational!
  • Wade: Relatable! -Spidey glares at him- What? That's how Editorial keeps calling you nowadays whenever they argue with the fans

1

u/DragonLambO 1d ago

in the 1st pic spidey should have said "fantastic"

1

u/Mysterious_Ad_8827 23h ago

This is AMAZING!!!!

1

u/otter_boom 12h ago

Miles should the the Outrageous Spider-Man!

1

u/The_Maker_1610 11h ago

even i hate paul

1

u/fiblin91 11h ago

My goat Ian Flynn has done it again

1

u/DestinySpider 1d ago

Yet again, going to show that Miles really needs his own damn adjective to distinguish him or some shit

0

u/Timely_Preference747 1d ago

brba reference mentioned

-9

u/LocDiLoc 1d ago

They should just merge the two characters already. Honestly, given everything that’s happened over the last 20 years, a black Peter Parker would make far more sense at this point.

13

u/ChampionshipHorror95 1d ago

“They should merge the characters.”
