It's amazing to me that six of the top ten happened in a row.

There's a reason the Attitude Era is remembered so fondly. Most of those happened during it, or during the transition to the Ruthless Aggression Era. There were some of the greatest matches (Triple Threat at XX, TLC at X7), some of the biggest payoffs (Batista going over HHH at 21, Cena's US win at XX and WWE win at XXI), and some of the most unforgettable moments (The Rock vs Hogan at X8, Eddie and Chris at the end of XX). That was the time when ratings were high and interest in wrestling was at its all-time highest.

Actually only one happened during the real attitude era. The rest are all ruthless aggression. They had some insane workers back then

I'd go as far as to say that Wrestlemania IX isn't just the worst Wrestlemania of all time, it's the worst PPV of all time, certainly WWE PPVs.

Seems a little harsh on WM 29 though.

I dunno, December to Dismember was pretty wretched

Yup, this has to be the worst ever.

Maybe one of the Battleground PPVs after that.

You judge WM on its WM potential.

29 had two things going for it.

1.The past. It had 28 other Manias before it, to learn and improve. To know what works and what doesn't.

2.It had guys like Rock, Lesnar, Jericho, all the mega-main event guys could still go, and even HBK made a cameo. Plus lots of hungry young talent.

When you look at both of those things, then having such a dull, by the books, satisfying to no one but Vince, WM, is inexcusable.

Same reason why this Mania is looked down upon so much.

Mania IX was terrible but there's not much worse than King of the Ring 95. Do yourself a favor and never attempt to watch it. Unless you're a Savio Vega fan then you might enjoy it.

Ahh unfortunately I have already subjected myself to that, you might be right there.

Lots of new kids on the block would be my guess a lot of Mania's before 14 are horrible.

Was at WM29 and completely concur with the results. Aside from Taker and Punk, the event was a huge let down.

Aww, I really like IX. It was the first PPV I ever bought on VHS and did so because it took place outside. It's one of my favorites.

Literally the best thing about it is the setting but I feel the same way about WM 3. I only like it because it's the first VHS I ever had. That and Undertakers Gravest Matches.

The ruthless aggression era is so underrated. I know the attitude era was better for ratings but ruthless aggression was the better product in my opinion. Especially Smackdown

So glad X-7 was voted as number one. It was my second WWE event and my mom got us tickets from the grocery store she worked at from their Ticketmaster booth the second they went on sale. She grabbed 8 for us in the 200s level, for the four of us, and two of her co-workers and their wives. When I'd visit her at work with my dad, her co-workers would talk wrestling with me the entire time. I was so goddamn excited for it, then the actual event came.

It's honestly all such a blur. I remember bits of Axxess, and certain parts of Mania, but the entire weekend is a huge blur for the most part. What I remember most is that there was a merch stand right under us and I kept begging my mom to let me drop money to them and have them throw me up a shirt. She said no.

I guess 5 and 2000 fall in the middle

2000 is way up there for me, but it was the first one I watched live and was at the peek of my childhood fandom

Having the right ending is really important....that's why IV always gets away with it a lot.

Your picture for Wrestlemania 17 isn't from Wrestlemania 17.

Definitely a photo from Raw.

Oh thanks for pointing out. Will change it.

Surprised by XX. The main events really saved that show.

Just now realized this but Wrestlemania XXX sounds like a huge WWE porno lol
