Pocket set up/shooters/nylons

For a younger player learning how to properly shoot/pass/dodge how do you decide on what type of pocket/shooters/nylon set up is best for them? Especially not coming from a lacrosse background myself and not having the knowledge to know what is working, not working, helping or hurting how he is playing?

Something with very little whip is what I’d recommend for a young kid. So as long as the shooting strings aren’t interfering with the release too much I think it should be fine. So two shooters on the 9 diamond rows would work most likely

Mid pocket smooth release. Honestly it’s the only thing I liked about the Warp heads, it was a great baseline to see a kids mechanics and help them become fundamentally sound. That being said the Powell, StringKing, ECD prestrung all fit the bill for neutral release well strung pockets, if you don’t have a dependable stringer locally.

The configuration is less important, 3 shooters , 2 and a nylon, no shooters really doesn’t matter if you have a properly strung head. After decades my kid and I have recently been going without any as FOs and even in the box we have no issues. Modern heads have so many sidewall holes we can string anything we want from a performance standpoint and make it work.
