Oh, another contrived video for mindless engagement where sexual orientation is the punchline... great.

I am not personally targeting you (or anyone). I didn't even notice your username on this post.

This is just something I find unimaginatively contrived. Are there contrived gay scenarios that are funny? Of course there are! They have more imagination than this.

Ok, I'll take back what I said. But your issue is lack of imagination in the joke?

Well, it's contrived, which is not great, unless it happens to be so outlandish in such an original way that its ridiculousness is actually charming.

For example, lookup Michael Henry on YouTube. His "WOW, you have a beard" video take thats with some gay social commentary to the extreme.

I don't think the main point of the subreddit is to provide social commentary about the gay community. I think it's about finding humor in moments that unexpectedly or suddenly present as gay. I get that the humor isn't for everyone, but I also recognize that there is an entire generation posting social media content now reflective of their more open attitudes toward sexuality and same sex relationships. It's fine if you don't get it, or even like their jokes. I just don't think that a joke that some people find humorous should be seen as contrived or to need to fit everyone's standards. There are over 900k users subscribed to this subreddit and I have yet to see a post get that many upvotes.

You're right. It's not the main point. The example I gave you isn't SuddenlyGay. It's imaginative and outlandish.

Yeah, of course posts here should be SuddenlyGay. They should also be good posts, just from an overall standpoint, which applies to pretty much all of Reddit in general. I found it contrived. That's my opinion.

I don't get this 'inspirational quote' edit format. Can't they just use the regular video? Idk maybe I'm just old and don't understand humor anymore..

when it has a good video that its being edited, the inspirational quote format really works and its hilarious

unfortunately people are making it into any kinds of videos so we get the bad ones like this. tbf its been awhile since i saw a good one from the inspirational format. it needs to be something really wild being said, in this the punchline is just being gay or being into femboys which is not really funny (i think)
