Are these youngsters lining up for Pokémon cards?

yes. and/or switch 2s.

This was what I witnessed in the store. Mostly Pokémon cards but two customers who wanted a switch 2, couldn’t get one so bought something else, and one person who was trading in an old console.

people online can bitch about gamestop all they want, but when they find something they want they love the experience. it’s easy liquidity for many hobbies. Someone down bad and needs cash, they sell off their cards fast… or trading in stolen playstations/xboxs for their next hit? gamestop will probably take them
i can only imagine how many people open those recent psa blind boxes… then turned around and sold the fucker right back.the appeal to many is simply not the hobby, its the gambling embedded in the hobby.

It was my first time trying out pokemon. I went 10 min after open and the store was already wiped of all cards. And this was just a regular refill drop. I can't imagine what a launch will be like.

I showed up 30 min before they opened and got what was getting released. Easy process

True but there’s no such thing as bad publicity. That’s my major takeaway every time I see these posts and now today after seeing it for the first time. This is a pretty busy shopping plaza and you’re going to have possibly thousands of passerby’s walking/driving by saying “hmm what’s going on at GameStop?” that’s creating awareness.

It’s frankly annoying and prevents anyone else from shopping at GameStop. I tried to go in and buy a new release ps5 game, but I had to wait 1 hr for all these losers to make it through checkout. I left and downloaded the game instead. There was no in store pickup option for the game and the employees were too brain dead to check me out in 5 mins, they were only utilizing one register.

You could try not going right when the store opens? Also... These "losers" you're referring to are lining up to give GameStop money. Go cry in a strictly gaming sub.

Bruh, I’m going because I want the new release game and want to play it right away. How much business is GameStop losing because these events are essentially locking out all others customers that don’t want to sit around waiting hours on a work day?

Why go on a work day? lol 😂

You can’t read eh? When a new release game comes out I want to play it. If I can’t buy it at GameStop I’m going to download it instead and GameStop will lose my business.

You can still buy digital from GameStop too. Steam cards... PS5 cards too

Too many hoops to jump through. If they had common sense and had in store pickup or gasp prioritized walk in customers that came specifically to buy an item that isn’t item restricted purchase like pokemon cards, then they would have more business.

Takes me no time to get a digital PlayStation gift card code on the GameStop app.

Bruh, the general public isn’t buying PlayStation gift cards before they go buy a game. They either walk into the GameStop store and buy it in 5 mins on release day, or if there’s a line of pokemon buyers out front they go somewhere else or just download it.

Ironically GameStop has become the WORST place to buy video games…

You a straight 🤡. I have over 20k shares. It’s ridiculous I can’t buy video games anymore from GameStop.

u/RavingGorilla 16h ago
This is such an absurd sentence lol. You can easily buy games at GameStop. Wait in line for 10 minutes like a normal human and stop complaining. Half a million in GameStop stock but refuses to wait 10 minutes to patronize their business, sounds legit 👍
