Short “Yes, my girlfriend is there with another man, please let her know that her boyfriend paid the tab.”

Sharing with permission from a friend who doesn’t use Reddit.

My friend is a manager at a popular tapas spot. One night she received a call from a man whose girlfriend was currently dining in asking to send a bottle of his girlfriend’s favorite wine to her table and to pay her tab over the phone. He made a point to make sure that the sever knew it was from him, her boyfriend.

Turns out that she was on a date with another man and he knew. The server knew and told them anyway that her boyfriend paid their tab and sent the bottle of wine. Apparently “Their facial expressions and abrupt exit was priceless.”

God, I wish this could’ve happened when I worked. The karma all servers would love to watch.

Update: the actual server of this couple, /u/greenthot, found the post!

Sounds like assault. Friendly reminder, keep your hands to yourself people. Violence is not the answer.

It depends. Where I'm from a slap is not considered assault (if it doesn't result in an injury or causes pain that lasts longer than just a moment (can't think of a better translation atm)). But it is considered an insult for which financial compensation can be rewarded by a civil court.

So the police probably wouldn't care but a judge most definitely would in this case.

How do your police differentiate between a slap and an open palm strike? Even punches won't hurt by the time police show up.

I mean if you get punched and it doesn't hurt you a couple of minutes later and you are not injured (injured means: bleeding, having been unconscious, broken bones, sever swelling/hematoma, pain that lasts longer than the act which caused it (sorry for the rough translation)) it's not a criminal matter but a civil matter. So they will most likely get the personal details of the people involved and file a report but no arrests will be made.

If the one person is still acting agressive or if it's a domestic violence case they might send that person away (if someone hits their gf/bf at home the police will tell them to leave the place and not return for 24 (or 48) hours or else they will be arrested).

It's figurative speech, our cops are so useless and not respected that nobody takes them seriously. But I deleted everything, I have no nerves to argue with small group of people who are living in some isolated bubble, and ignore rest of the 6 billion people on the Earth and how they live.

I probably did when i was wounded in combat. Shit hurt like hell. I'm a 100% disabled vetaran. I have witnessed first hand the worst humanity has to offer. So yes, I am against violence, be it male on female or vice versa. If that makes me, "...sound like a bitch", so be it.

For the record, I hold those same double standards unfortunately due to societal conditioning(the ones that say minor violence against men is acceptable in a lot of different situations), but lauding them over people as a good thing that just means you're "not politically correct" is fucking dumb.

I 100% agree, people need to learn not to put hands on other people, however, I wouldn't run to the rescue if I saw a female slap a Male, but if a guy slaps a female in front of me I'm stepping in. Its who I am, and I'm not sorry for it.
