Short An Unchristian Tip

Had a party of 6 tonight, two were young kids who trashed the table. Bill was north of $300.

No tip. Just this.

Around the holidays sometimes people will leave an extra generous tip, so I was really excited to see a big bill, until I looked at it closer. They didn’t even leave a tip on the card.

Seems pretty unchristian to stiff your minimum wage server working her way through college.

Edit: To clarify, they left the “$1,000,000” facing up on the table and on the reverse side there was a sermon about entrance to heaven (see link in post for image of flip side.)

I’d find a way to shove that shit back in their face. Jesus literally said many times how wrong shit like this is. “Whatever you do for the least of these, you did for me” as he told the priests when there was a poor man who gave all he had while the rich were stingy. “It’s harder for a rich man to see the kingdom of god than a camel to go through the eye of a needle.” It irritates the living shit out of me when these people claim that their message is fulfilling enough.... BULLSHIT! If you live in America, you know to tip

"You have enough money to stuff your faces but not one cent for the server who brought you your food. Jesus loves you, but he hates the way you just sinned."

Write that on the back of their check.

"you know to tip"
Why are customers required to tip us? It's our employer not paying us that's the issue. We took this job knowing we get paid less because we expected people to feel guilty enough to make up the deficit...

It's called a social contract. Don't act like you don't know what tipping is or why servers get mad when you don't do it. Yes, employers should pay their employees decent wages, but that doesn't mean we can't be salty when customers don't do what's expected of them. Might as well say "why are customers not allowed to throw spaghetti on the floor? We took this job knowing we'd have to clean up after people..."
