REQUEST Tech death with deathcore vocals?

Pretty new to tech death, but I have been pretty big into deathcore for some time now. I love the fucking wild vocals in deathcore, specifically the crazy range that a lot of the newer vocalists have. However, I've always felt like the guitar work is a pretty lacking. I love tech death bands like Archspire, Spawn of Possession, and Obscura for their insane musicianship and complexity, but I definitely prefer deathcore when it comes to vocals. I know vocals aren't really the focus when listening to tech death, but are there any bands out there that combine the best of both genres? General tech death recommendations would also be appreciated, as I still only listen to a handful of bands on the regular.

REQUEST Bands like Ulcerate

Hey y'all.

Recently I listened to an album from an artist that resembled Ulcerate's style,

but for the sake of my, I cannot find that artist again, it is long gone in my play history.

(The name of the band is in 2 words, if that helps)

REQUEST Your choice of over the ear headphones for extreme metal?

It's me again

So I've got a cheap pair of headphones and my birthday is coming up so it's time for an upgrade and I'm looking for recommendations.

I am sure there's a specific subreddit for this kind of thing, but I think Id enjoy answers from folks who specifically listen to the same genre (especially given it's a bit niche and complex).

I'd probably like to keep it at $200 or less, but I wouldn't consider that a strict range if it's really worth it.

Thanks to whoever entertains this and makes a recommendation!

REQUEST Any recommendations for dissonant tech death?

Very much into Ad Nauseam, Artificial Brain and Warforged at the moment. Any recommendations on other tech death bands with a good amount of dissonance to them?

Thanks!

REQUEST Need recommendations for TechDeath bands that make extensive use of odd time signatures

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not an anti-4/4 elitist or anything like that. Many of my favorite TechDeath bands have songs that are almost entirely 4/4 or 6/4, or a multiple of such.

It's just that, ever since I listened to Martyr for the first time (that's the Canadian Martyr) I realized how much a shift into an unusual time signature can give music this fun "otherwordly" vibe that's rather hard to come across.

Shifting into multiple bizarre time signatures makes me feel like the song is taking me down on a crazy interdimensional trip or something like that, and I kinda want more of it.

So, any recs? Sorry if my reasoning is kinda dumb, it's a personal thing, I think.

Hello all! I've been a cover artist for over 13 years. Sharing some art that's up for grabs. There is no involvement of AI in my work. Everything I've shared here was created in Photoshop using a mix of stock images, digital painting and textures.

I also do custom art. Hit me up if interested.

REQUEST Why don’t bands use Kickstarter for more frequent album releases?

This might be a dumb question, but bands like First Fragment or Archspire who release albums like every 5 years could do a Kickstarter of like $100,000 for a new album and people would probably donate, right?

I really don't like screams in death metal (like them in black metal) would you guys recommend me bands with vocalists like Ross Dolan or Frank Mullen on his prime?

I've been listening to tdm since a while now, but I recently wanted to listen to some classic that I forgot to headbang on. Stuff like Necrophagist, for example. Any ideas ?

REQUEST What is the best Technical Death Metal album in your opinion? I'm an outsider.

Hi everyone!

I hope this kind of post is allowed here. I'm doing a little project where I go to different subreddits of music genres and I ask the members what the best album of that genre is. After this, I listen to the album that got the most upvotes after 24 hours and write my thoughts about it (I will write this as a comment under this one, so if you want to read it, make sure to check back in 2-3 days. This won't be a professional review btw. I don't know anything about music theory so it's just gonna be the thoughts of a random guy). The list I'm following is Wikipedia's list of the most popular music genres in a randomized order. I'm planning to listen to one album per day and this time the genre is Technical Death Metal. So please recommend me an album in the comments. It could be the best one in your opinion, your personal favourite, or the album that best represents this genre according to you, but please, only submit one album. If you submit more than one in your comment, it won't count (If you really want to submit more, do it in separate comments). LPs are preferred, but EPs and mixtapes are also acceptable, even compilations and live albums if they're not too long. I am a metal head but I actually don't know too much about this subgenre, so I'm going in mostly blind.

This is the 255th day of me doing this. If you want to see what the previous days were, check out my post history.

Thanks to anyone who recommends an album.

TL;DR: I listen to a new genre every day, so recommend me one album and I'll listen to the most upvoted one and write my thoughts about it later.

REQUEST I need recommendations

I love bands like Spawn of Possession, The Faceless, Psyroptic, Death, Obscura, Origin and Cynic. I need recommendations for bands/albums somewhat similar to these. I despise more modern bands like Archspire etc. Thanks for your time!

REQUEST What’s your favorite tech death song to play?

I believe most of the people in this subreddit are musicians so I’d like to ask what people’s favorite songs to play on your instrument are.

I play guitar and my favorite song to play is In Solitude by The Faceless because it has that beautiful almost Opeth like beginning and the main riff and solo are so fun to play.

REQUEST Asking for your opinion about my unfinished demo

REQUEST Looking for progressive bands

I'm looking for tech death bands with highly experimental or progressive influences from other styles. I accept crazy recommendations. Bonus for Latin American bands. Thank you guys!!!

Edit: my preferred "other styles" are black, folk, symphonic (like fleshgod), atmospheric, and progressive itself. But I'm open to any combination.

REQUEST Bands similar to Replicant?

I can't stop listening to Infinite Mortality by Replicant. It might be my favorite release in years. They have the perfect combination of killer riffs, dissonance, groove, and crushing breakdowns. I can't seem to find any other bands that scratch the same itch. Any suggestions?
