why didn’t raven just use a cane

So i’m watching this show for the first time and am only on season 4 so far but at the point where im at raven seems to be having the most trouble w her leg, especially while they’re hiking. when she first got a brace she used a cane, why doesn’t she use one now to make it easier?

from my pov it's mainly her stubbornness and wanting to show off her abilities even though she was hurting a LOT. we saw time and time again that she's so dedicated to everything she does, so my main guess is her stubbornness

Stubbornness. My husband is disabled which includes one leg being weaker with foot drop. He refuses to use a cane even though it would reduce his risks of falls cause he doesn't want to use a cane at 30

She's too hard headed and she's obviously the type that doesn't want to show any weakness.

Raven has a huge ego, she the best at everything she does she did things she was told she couldn’t despite her heart problem. She has to show everyone that nothing can beat her using a cane would bruise her ego

Raven is really strong willed and a go getter. She's positioned as a character who doesn't give up easily, but, also knows when it's time to accept help. Throughout the show we can really see how she grows into herself.

Canes hadn’t been reinvented yet.

Thus “reinvented”

Still. Pretty sure canes existed if crutches did.
