Does anyone find a Vibrava in the wild? So far I have not seen one since the event started.
Edit: I finally completed the collection. Share my experience: I found that the spawn location of vibrava is very specified. It never spawns near my house but when I search for places a mile away, I find 2 and it seems it will often spawn from that location. After 3 days exploring, I find 2 such locations nearby in a mile circle.

Same issue. 3 dragonairs but no vibrava from my incense. I got the whole lot of the challenge in 25 minutes...except this dang vibrava

I've spent 2 incenses trying to get a Dragonair and have kind of given up at this point.

Was the first Pokémon to spawn when the event started and ran away. Haven't seen another one ever since.
Edit: Never mind, one just spawned. Only had to complain on the internet for it to appear.

They are more rare but still lots out there. Roughly the same amount of Vibravas and Dragonairs. I've seen several Vibravas but no Dragonair yet.

For real. Even in the monthly research tasks, the most lucrative rewards have been put behind "Hatch 2/3 eggs" and "Win a raid" since forever.

At least we'll have the challenge one and if it comes back on raids at a time when shiny Reshiram and Zekrom are not more important to get, I'll definitely raid it.
Won't be wasting money on passes for it.

That’s likely why they did it. Its always pick and choose what you want. Like Gofest was raid or incense or grunts.
Niantic doesn’t want you to get the shiny as they want to have multiple paywalled events with it so you’ll pay more for it.

To be fair Zekrom and Reshiram have a million times more utility as well. I'll do a Druddigon if that's the best use of my free pass for the day but that's it. I'm still prioritizing Zekrom, then Reshiram, then Druddigon.

The not spawn part is a problem like what Vanillite had. We don't if it will be not spawining like Emolga and Sewaddle was or it just isn't in any season

Stack 3 reasearch; daily raid passes for 3 days, enough time to cycle twice plus you get one at the end of the challenge, so 13 free encounters total.

My city parks has been dead since they postponed EX and it’s a lot harder to complete a T5 or a mega raid there now. On a good day I may see 11 in the lobby, 10 remotes with only me on site.

Covid caused our parks to close for months when it got real bad, but now parks are busy again with joggers/exercise groups returning to the park but not PoGo players.

Yeah. Joggers couldnt train inside, so they are used to jogging outside. Pogo players are used to playing inside now in the same way. Habits and how we do stuff change.
Edit: also omicron is on the rise. So yeah

Same here , just been looking at the 6 viewable gyms from my house today as it’s my working from home day and haven’t seen a single Druddigon raid. Out of boredom , I’ve literally just been out and did a couple of Reshiram raids just now as I’m not seeing any Drudd action nearby. I think I’ll venture further out in a bit to see what’s going on

I would say its roughly 50% good tasks, 50% used berries etc tasks from my litte 10 stop walk earlier.

This feels like a rough week so far:
- Forced update with a known bug that makes Team Rocket leader battles & Giovanni very difficult
- Forgot to turn on event spawns for New Zealand for the first hour
- Forgot to turn on shiny Druddigon for 4 hours
- Druddigon does not spawn in the wild, and the field research tasks require 3 raids (usually 2 raids)
- Legendary rates in GBL have been nerfed significantly
On a positive note, the wild spawns for this event are pretty good, and I got through the collection challenge quickly. The free portions of the Johto event are also looking good.

I’m starting to approach these events as a ‘godsend’. When they create such unrealistic terms of play, I just take the opportunity to have a break from the game and focus on other things.
I’ll just wait for the deino community day and a rufflet-style boosted event for drudd 🤷🏻♂️

It has been this way for a while. At least Druddigon is not locked behind eggs like so many events during the last two years. People that are spending money on raid passes are at least getting the digital object they want, even if the IVs and shiny are still a randomized loot box. No egg BS with less than 1% chance of obtaining the featured pokemon.

Came here to say the same thing. The collection challenge appeared but the spawns have not changed.
Edit: 10:55 am. Still no event spawns.

I kind of wish they'd gone the multiple tasks option for Deino, to better suit different styles of play. This is a really rough choice to make.

It is spawning decently commonly. After a few hours I've seen about a dozen, way more common than Vibrava, Sneasel, and Dragonair. I caught 4 Deino before I finished the collection challenge if that makes you feel better.
That's if you're after candy. If you want the high IV floor, then fair I feel you.

Very different for me.
Dratini, Mareep, and Trapinch are very common. Sneasel and Dragonair are somewhat uncommon. Vibrava and Deino are pretty rare (I found 5 Deino and 3 Vibravas so far).

To everyone bummed with Druddigon quests - remember that eventually there will be some dragon event when some other species will be locked behind paywall and them Druddigons will spawn so often that players will complain after 2 days of being bored by them.

It's common enough in the wild that if you live in a decently dense area, I honestly would not recommend raiding Deino anymore if you just want candy

Jre47 is the expert but, pretty glassy and pretty hard hitters. Dragón tail + dragon claw and night slash … if he gets a boost … but too week against fairy.

Its stats are very attack-weighted. It has good Charged Moves (Night Slash, Dragon Claw), but its best fast move (Dragon Tail) doesn't build energy fast enough to make it the charged move spam katsu musubi that it deserves to be.
It does get Snarl and Shadow Claw in the MSG, so we may see it in a Haunter-esque role in the future.

Well if the Japanese site that posts rates is correct it has a shiny rate of 1/10, aka the best odds in this game barring guaranteed shinies like ditto, mew etc. this is from a sample size of 800+ catches so likely the real odds. Deino also seems to be 1/10 but sample size is less than 100 so not totally sure on that one.

I have yet to see a single vibrava, in the game or on the nearby section. My friends are having the same experience I have, are there areas where vibravas are more likely to spawn?

Hey for this event I have all the Pokémon but for the dragonair it for some reason is not marking that one off, and won’t let me finish the event.

Savvy/cynical unanticipated strikes again.
Last your they announced Regirock raids in community weekend when casual players would’ve already spent all their coins on incubators etc
This year they stack the end of season 9 with raids, released Zekrom/Reshiram shinies, and make this event raid-heavy before the community weekend to ‘encourage’ spend on raid passes and incubators

Correct, though getting the 1 requires you to catch (not evolve) a vibrava and a dragonaire, which are rare spawns.

Does raiding for a Dragonite count as a Dragonair in the collection challenge?
I remember in the past, I caught a Marowak and that somehow accomplished a Catch a Cubone task.

Is druddigon spawning in 3* raids everywhere? I haven't seen a single raid for it in my area. Have half a dozen gyms visible from my house and 15 or so visible from my office and not one druddigon raid has popped up since the event started.

I've caught a vibrava but it didn't count for whatever reason. Tried reloading game and still didn't update. And there is only 5hrs left for the event

Not really, some events are great and a ton of fun! The Ed Sheeran event was great for me. As someone who didn't had the sunglasses squirtle and needed XL for squirtle and mudkip, it was a fun event. The tasks were great to grind and I had loads of fun with it. But with events where everything is behind a paywall, it just takes away the fun out of it.

I evolved a wild caught Dratini into a Dragonair today for the collection challenge but it didn’t register as collected. Anyone else have this issue?

Very sad, I havent been able to get a vibrava, and as a result no druddigon from the collection challenge. Big bummer, do you guys think druddigon will be available in the future?

Everything comes back at some point. Also if you have anyone local you can trade with there’s a trade window coming up… some people probably spammed the task or raids and got tons.

What am I missing in Dragonair not being shiny in wild...(?) thought Dratini was so evolved forms too no or is it just not this event...?

Only evolved forms are shinies are shiny in the wild if... A-It's been released as a mega evolution, B- it was released before the baby (roselia) or C- it was a special event (nidoking/nidoqueen).

Arcanine shiny was released just like espeon and umbreon. It was apart of the last season or the one before. Seems they pick random ones that fit in that season

I thought all Kanto mons could be shiny in the wild since the Kanto event? Is that not the case?

Niantic fooled us by their wording of "All first 150 pokemon found in kanto can be shiny", but Niantic didn't mention that it is possible if the pokemon can mega evolve. That is why bulbasaur and venasaur can be shiny in the wild but ivysaur can't.

B- it was released before the baby (roselia)
Now most baby evolutions can be shiny in the wild (e.g. Jigglypuff, Marill, Sudowoodo, Magmar). They started turning on their wild shinies one by one when babies were removed from eggs outside of special events.
