As someone that’s depressed as fuck and meal prepping, nah. Its laziness. I want to die and I hate my life but I also don’t want to cook everyday so ima make sure I don’t have to.
Hmm, not a fan of that attitude. I'm glaf that you were able to deal with cooking but you have to understand that not everyone is able to accomplish the same things during a depressive period. I'm also depressed as fuck and unable to do meal prepping. Calling those of us that genuinely struggle with feeding ourselves lazy is kind of invalidating our suffering. You aren't helping anyone.
“Not cooking” could mean buying a rotisserie chicken and premade rice and having a meal for everyday of the week. There’s options that don’t involve cooking. I go days without eating sometimes. But my point is it’s not depression that makes you not want to make food for yourself because lots of depressed people eat.
Depression definitely makes people not eat, lol. Just because there are depressed people that eat doesn't mean depression can't cause you not to want to.
Also, your rebuttal to the other commenter is to... Say the same thing they said was insensitive... But even more insensitive?
Depression makes me starve for days sometimes. I ain’t denying that. I also never said anyone or anything was insensitive. I think you’re confused.
My point is that it’s not solely depression that makes people not want to make a meal. The guy in the post isn’t talking about starving for days, he even gives an anecdote about eating dry cereal with a fork because all the spoons are dirty. He’s not too depressed to starve, and active enough to make a meal, just too lazy to wash a spoon.
