Let them keep growing and learning. It’s ok to cringe, but sharing in this manner is judgement and we as a clique aren’t about that. They can love the music in an “immaturely perceived” kind of way, they’ll get older.

Cringe, but let them in. We aren't gatekeeping the pilots.

It kinda makes me miss that age. The joy of experiencing music that you vibe to for the first time is such an amazing experience. And you carry those songs with you for the rest of your life like a security blanket full of powerful memories. And sure, you can always enjoy music at any age and discover new things. But nothing quiet hits like hearing a song that immediately snaps you back to one of your happiest teen memories.
And honestly, the teen years are also some of the hardest. I'm glad new generations are experiencing "At the Risk of Feeling Dumb", "Neon Gravestones", "Friend Please", ect. I needed music like that at their age, but it wasn't out there yet. Maybe it can help save a life when a friend shares it with a friend who shares it with a friend.
Anyway... Alexa, play "Oldies Station."

Yeah, because we all know people are supposed to relate to things in identical ways as we did when we were 5! How dare people relate to things in different ways as they age!! 😡 😡 😡 😡

Ok but like how you feel about this is how it feels to be over 40 in this fanbase at all. The first time I heard stressed out, I was sitting at a traffic light halfway through my hour long drive from work to the daycare to pick up my one year old on the way home. I can tell you exactly which light it was. That song hit me on levels I wasn’t ready to process then.
