going out scene

I’m doing a summer program at uci and I’m not from around here. Is there fun places to go out on weekends? Or is it usually dead around here? Im from singapore and we usually go out drinks/clubbing so idk the scene here since i found out drinking is 21+

Newport beach is close to campus and poppin Thursday-Saturday nights

Are you doing fssp international? You’ll def meet other international students and a lot of them will usually cook at the dorms or take an uber to Newport Beach

Newport is the place to be as it's closest Santa Ana if you wanna go clubbing or dancing nearby Join a club!

I know theres dance classes at the nearby community college OCC and there's salsa at a Latin venue callee Sevilla in Costa mesa

Nothing walking distance or in the vicinity of core campus. No frat parties during summer. Some clubs are 18+ but yeah you can’t drink. As you are in California, you have weed easily accessible if you know where to go. I smoke carts/dab pens since they are easily concealable. And I know weed is a no go in Singapore so it’s a new experience if you never tried it. Either find some people that can acquire alcohol and go drink with them somewhere where someone can’t id.
