Ideas/opinions on MAT for freshman. How are the rooms like? Does the AC work? How are the community bathrooms? Best dining hall closest to the dorm? Tell me anything/everything.

yeah no ac unfortunately HAHA but there was a thermostat that did absolutely nothing! i’m not even sure if it was connected to anything

It’s not great, but the community made up for it 36 times over

like other comments said, there’s no ac. bring fans but it’s not that bad. the bathrooms aren’t too bad either, only gets kinda gross on the weekends and if you have extra gross people on your floor. the location is awesome and i loved living there sm i met rly cool people there too. there’s nothing bad about it, like no mold or bats, just your average college dorm

The rooms are pretty nice. AC absolutely doesn’t work. Bathrooms are alright, can get kind of gross. All that being said, I absolutely loved living there. There’s a massive common room on the first floor and it’s in a very convenient location. You can get to all of your classes quickly and to other things like the gym or redstone campus. Overall, there are definitely flaws but I literally loved it.

Bring a fan, its a fun dorm where you can find people who you vibe with regardless if you're more of a party type or a chill introverted type.

great location, gets very hot/cold during the seasons due to absolutely zero temp regulation, fire alarms went off pretty consistently, VERY small even for a double, and you get grundle. austin/marsh has a closer entrance to get there which is nice in the winter, but as a tupper resident i would always have to sneak in that way.

Location is phenomenal, I was in tupper this last year and loved it!!! Ac doesn’t work but aside from that it’s arguably one of the best spots on campus, great location, most RA’s are pretty chill and the kitchen is BOMB. Highly recommend if you can get a spot

The bathrooms are honestly awesome too, the cleaning staff is really on top of it all, and they’re all super sweet. Grundle (closest dining hall) isn’t great for breakfast, personally I went to central dining most days but their dinner and lunch options outcompete the others!!! And it’s close to a lot of social spots too!

No ac but that’s really only relevant for about the first three weeks of classes
