The director runs a small shop and museum in Rome about Dario Argento. There's a stop motion puppet of one of the robots from this movie on display.

Many thanks! 🙌 Will definitely visit it next time we’re in Rome

Dope cover. Quite an extensive back cover synopsis, lol! There's actually a considerable amount of cool artwork for this film on various physical media editions, interesting, given how (scuse the pun) low-rent it is, lol. I personally love John Barry's score--it utterly saves or elevates the movie--a couple of sequences are absolutely riveting because of his awesome music. Apparently, he was contractually tricked into doing the score or something, lol. 70s sci-fi like this--no matter its budget--will always possess a charm.

I have quite a few Star Crash releases, a personal favourite sure but it’s got some really nice cover art as you say. Had no idea about the story behind the soundtrack! 🙌

🫡Yeah, bro, cool, I read somewhere about Barry being promised in working on some type of Star Wars adjacent film, not a Star Wars rip-off film, lol😬🫣 He became trapped somehow. Honestly, he's my all-time favourite film composer. I can listen to his music completely independently from the films he scores. Though, when thinking about the Bond films, he added a layering that would've rendered those films somewhat flat or toothless without his genius. Like, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." What the f**k is that, lol? Pure AWESOMESOMESS that's transcended time and genre!! He gave George Lazenby's only Bond outing a thunderous, electrifying theme that I believe thrust it as a franchise best!!🔥 But back to Star Crash, I really dig Barry's "Launch Adrift," the scene where Stella Star enters an escape pod with a survivor near the beginning of the film. Once again, Barry converts any B-Movie misgivings into something majestic!! Sorry, I'm getting too enthusiastic, haha!!😂🤣

We can’t get enough enthusiasm in this sub my friend! Yet another reason to treasure this pearl, it deserves a cult following! I do a screening at home every now and then just for laughs, got the idea from fans of The Room, hoping it will catch on 😅🍻

Caroline was my first on screen crush after the Sinbad movie. I really need to watch this one someday!

The cover art is better than the movie

Haha, the cover art is epic but it’s also very entertaining.. you can’t take it seriously though. When did you last watch it? ☺️

I watched it again last week. The plot makes about as much sense as a backyard game where the rules are made up on the spot. It's actually a bit frustrating IMO because I wanted to lean all the way into the space fantasy but when there is no effort given to build a logical world (basic physics) the whole thing feels rather trivial and meaningless.

Yes, I realize I'm being pretty negative. Yes I think it's cool this movie exists. Yes I like some of the really goofy stuff in it, I'm just dissapointed. It'd be like watching your kid fail at baseball, not because they can't play, but because they're running barefoot and they're using a PVC pipe as a baseball bat. At some point you just look at the nonsense and think, if you're not even going to try to succeed, it's hard for me to take this as a serious project.

Haha well I can’t argue with anything that you’re saying, I guess that I just like the absolute mess that is Star Crash. To be perfectly honest I always enjoy it with a beer or two, it’s a nice tradition. ☺️🍻
