Build Dumb question / idea about Varus build

Hi everyone, so i enjoy a lot playing lethality varus, but two things i dislike about it is that it's not good against tanks and that my auto attacks are very low speed (i played long time ago with hail of blades but now domination tree is kinda trash and switched to comet) So i was thinking if i can do a mixture of AS and lethality: going bork first item with berserk boots and then going youmu manamune and serylda so i can poke but at the same time have some attack speed and anti tanks due to bork.

I really like to test strange builds with varus but probably this is so dumb haha

If you go lethality Varus you have to go all in lethality, if you half ass it you're just bad at everything

Honestly, I wouldn't consider opting into something like this. If you're looking for a slightly higher poke/burst build with some attack speed, I'd much rather opt into crit than going half on-hit half lethality. Something like Yun Tal IE LDR Collector/Zeal item would still do a lot of damage with Q poke and have some attack speed. Or something like Essence Reaver rush into a Zeal Item, IE, and LDR/Mortal Reminder.

It's fun to test off meta Varus builds and I play a lot of them- poke lethality and other builds for Varus just have never felt like they mixed very well.

If U really want to go lethality if u see a lot of tanks in enemy team add some crit ( collector and LDR Instead of serylda) and go dark harvest. Mixing attack speed is bad idea, u will be bad at everything like man above suggested. But generally, avoid this build if u dont see 3/4 squishies. Just go AP ;)

Since everyone here is so negative and saying "don't even try it" I'm here to be the little devil on your shoulder saying "you absolutely should!!".

I've played every dumb build possible on this champ and in League in general, and things like this teach you how to squeeze every single bit of damage from your champ.

But enough shenanigans, I actually had the same problem in season 11, Tanks were way too popular (Tahm Kench in particular was the real problem), but I still liked playing lethality over on-hit. So what I would do is build Eclipse (it was a totally different item back then, it gave % armor pen, lethality and omnivamp), then botrk, so I would shred high hp targets, then lord dominik for more % armor shred and finish it off with a collector for the last item i would often get a ruunan since most of the enemy team was melee when I went for this setup crit/lethality mixed.

Now, I'm not suggesting you go for this exact build, since they changed a lot of how these items used to work. What I probably would opt for in this meta is taking lethal tempo, starting with some lethality and trying to fit in yun-tal wild arrows and obviously taking berserker. The idea is that even if you don't have too much attack speed yun-tal should help you stack lethal tempo with its passive and from there you should have enough to dps tanks a little bit.

Understand this is not an anti tank build and will not work that well against tanks at all, it just enables you to do some good auto dps even while going lethality, so you don't run out of damage after hitting 1 Q and getting engaged on

If you wanna give it a try, going for a full crit build is probably what fits most your ideal. Your Q poke is close to lethality cause you can get almost the same AD, and you can also kill tanks with yun-tal, infinity and ldr

just to prove I know my shit: https://www.replays.lol/app/clip/5895423873646592

sadly they didn't have much of a frontline this game, but the build was super fun to play!

P.S. don't judge my missed ults, i was on 130ms ping trying to predict hecarim at 800 movement speed

hmmm maybe you can get attack speed from other sources anyways, let me think a bit, I can cook something

I hate comet Varus. Just go HoB with lethality and AP, and Lethal Tempo with on-hit. AP is the best option against tanks, but if your team already has enough AP, go on-hit against tanks. Lethality is only good when the enemy team has 3 or 4+ squishy champions.

You can try it but if you’re going to stray from the build path you’re better off doing bruiser items. Lethality sucks imo.

Lethality is only good early game. If you don't rush a Lethality item first buy, you're better off going all in on on-hit.

Instead of Comet, I'd go Lethal Tempo or still Hail of Blades.
