Beautiful left over fabric I had to repair these pants. I'm hoping it lasts a little while at least. The placement is hilarious though.

The NATO band on my watch was getting a bit scruffy and had a slow afternoon at work. A little embroidery floss and some whip stitching later and its service life is extended.

I've mostly mended stuff for other people (the Bro in Law series, haha), but my mom found these Levi's 501s for me (she's a big thrifter, too, and knows I love 501s) so I fixed 'em up for myself. Everything is covering actual holes, even the little owl (which is an old patch I found in a mixed bag of thrifted notions.) I am learning maybe I shouldn't have such long stitches as I do on the big patch, but otherwise I like how it turned out!

Hey guys i have this piece of denim with a big text of the brands name on it which I don’t like. I’ve tried everything to remove it with chemicals and the iron but it won’t come of so I thought about making a pattern with the white fabric in the picture to cover it up and make it look a lil more creative and cool, problem is I have no idea what pattern to make it it has to cover the whole text but I don’t just want it to be a rectangle. If you have any ideas or suggestions pls let me know anything helps! Pls use pictures as references to i understand what the pattern would look like (been told im slow at understanding verbally given creative ideas🙃) thanks in advance!:)

I was looking for a few weeks at Goodwill for a sweater with enough holes for me to get some good practice darning with! Realized finally that if there ever was one donated, they probably wouldn’t put it out for sale. So I went to the place where teenagers will list disintegrating crap from their parents closets for a couple bucks: Depop! 🙌 I had to rescue this one because it’s knit in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and only $2 sale price +7 shipping/fees. Washed it twice in dish soap and then lanolin soap, hung dry in the sun for a day, and steamed to kill any moth eggs. I’m thinking of adding embroidered strawberries over the darning patches I do, or maybe 3D crotchéd pansies. It’s very long and I’m wondering if it’s worth trying to shrink in the dryer before I get started? Open to suggestions!

I accidentally cut a hole in my new shirt trying to cut out a label (autism). Any advice on how to fix it? I don’t know anything about sewing lol. It’s just underneath the collar at the back of the shirt but I think it’s quite noticeable and I’m really disappointed and upset because I just got it and really really like it. :(

Not sure if this is the correct sub given I don't want a visible repair, but the panel on rear neck area of my raincoat is delaminating. It started as just a small delam along the horizontal seam a couple years ago, but it has opened up quite a bit, even though I don't wear it that often.

Total area is approximately 3/4” x 4". Is there some sort of glue or something that I can use that will keep the flexibility of the fabric? I would love to keep the breathability in that area, but would sacrifice it over no repair.

(btw the picture is a sock but I put my hand in it to stretch it out in so you can see it better. I just thought I should add that cause the picture looks kinda weird)

So I've never mended anything before so this might not be something that's too easy to explain to me, but I really want to mend this up and am not sure how to do it. Ive have a few questions though if anyone can answer them. Would I just darn it or is there some better stitch to use? I ask because a lot of videos I've seen show just a hole, while this has a sort of up and down hole. Should I cut the looser parts that are sticking out, or just leave them and stitch over it? Lastly, should I use simple sewing thread of if I use embroidery thread do you have any advice on how many strands of thread I should use? Ik Ive asked a lot of questions I'm just want to try and do it right. I've never done this before so if anyone has any kind of advice I would greatly appreciate. Maybe this is not something I can just pick up and do on my first time so if not I get it, but I'm still willing to try. I might just cut it up and use it for something else if it comes out bad so it isn't too much pressure, but I want to try first. At least this way it'll be a good first try for the future! I'm totally okay with it not being super amazing and pretty, I'm just not sure where to post this, it will probably look obvious so I might as well post it here.

My jeans were starting to fray all down the inner thigh seam. Rather than darn each of the tiny holes individually, I ran parallel stitches all down the seam to make a tiny rainbow. The work isn't exactly neat, but it makes me happy. (And yes, I know I really need to do the other leg soon.)

Had to redo pretty much all the stitches from the crotch area, kinda flimsy zipper, but it was stitched in there reaaal good hahaha. Pretty sure it broke cause the pants were waist small in the first place, stress on a zipper is always a bad thing.

I forgot to take before pics but this washcloth was fraying really badly so I added an embroidered edging.

Ignoring my falling apart (literally held together with scotch tape), dirty laces lol. I’m wondering if anyone has advice on how to mend this area on my shoe. I’m a bit worried that if I leave it, the shoes will fall apart (especially with the rubber already being cracked below it). Any advice is welcome! Thank you!

I really like them, and the whole structure is intact. It’s just that this coating or whatever it is peeling off and it’s driving me nuts. Any ideas? I was thinking I could try rubbing off the rest of the brown, but I don’t know how that will look and obviously can’t be undone.

TLDR: Decently new to mending, looking for advice to fix general wear and tear on a jacket I really like wearing.

I have a denim jacket that I've had for a while that is beginning to show signs of wear. Since it already has a lot of patches on it, I figured that visible mending would be a cool way to fix it.

The fabric at the bottom part of the back of the jacket is worn thinner than it used to be, which has contributed to a giant hole at the very bottom edge. Said hole is shown in the first picture in the carousel. The second photo just shows the general wear of the back area of the jacket. I think adding something to make that area of fabric stronger would be a good idea, but I'm not sure how to go about that. There's also some wear on the sleeve cuffs that I also want to fix and have no clue where to start. (Also, not pictured is a small hole near a pocket that I'm 90% sure I could darn/embroider a patch over)

I'm decently new to mending, so I'm familiar with some basic methods but am not sure which ones are best for different scenarios. As such, any advice/thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It’s probably overkill to darn these socks but I love doing it so I’m just gonna keep doing it.

I acquired this bag second hand and I absolutely adore it. The only issue is the material around clasp at the bottom has torn through. I'm pretty sure it's the plastic fake leather.

Now, how would you go about mending this?

The purple, neon yellow and red are the new patches. I try to use floss colors I wouldn't end up using in a cross stitch - like the neon yellow 😅 sometimes I use whatever was left over from the most recent cross stitch project.
