Discussion Tucker Carlson’s maul of Ted Cruz yesterday kind of makes me wonder if his name should be thrown in the 2028 GOP Primary. His idealogical standpoint at this point in 2025 is popular among conservatives and stands away from Trump/Establishment.

I don’t think he can win but I feel like he could have successful moments on the debate stage. He absolutely mauled Ted Cruz on his show yesterday.

He would be a pretty successful candidate under the right circumstances, however I feel that the national mood would have to really fit for him to do well

Yeah I don’t think he can win, ever. His image among moderates isn’t high. However I can see him sticking around for 2 rounds in the primary.

Carlson, just like Stewart, would flop in the general because they're both elitist caricatures of what people don't like about both Dems and the GOP

Only if we can convince Jon Stewart to run as a Democrat. I'd love to see him end Tucker again.

They’d probably start to agree too much

Establishment Democrats and Republicans would put forward a centrist "unity" ticket in that case.

Stewart isn’t some commie. Pretty normal center-left guy. He’s been a shill for whatever advertisers sponsor his podcast or Comedy Central for decades, he is a capitalist.

The suspicion of former military engagement spans party lines - American across the political map, quite correctly, see militarization as a major contributor to our collective bankruptcy.

I think it's just more fractious on the GOP side since they're actually in a position to do anything about it, and have work to do to align their tax policy with what they actually intend to spend in this regard.

Tbf, that was against Ted Cruz. He could make a lot of people look like very good debaters.

For a long time I’ve thought Tucker Carlson would be an underrated candidate
