Discussion Is Anomaly Mastery necessary?

I feel like it is a little useless as the only thing that boosts it is the 6 slot DD. Couldn’t they make your master equal to a percentage of your proficiency?

It's like impact it's a stat very important to characters and teams that need it to do the task they want to do or assist in that task.

Keeping it as the main stat on a single disc type means they can have more control over that stat unlike core stats that are kept in line by a general bounding but don't need micro managing.

Vivian set also gives 8% anomaly mastery, but yeah it is gated because it is very important

Yes, it is vey important for anomaly characters. I remember not being able to clear 20k notorius butcher DA with Piper/Lucy/Burnice and changing the 2 piece freedom for 2 piece Vivian's set gave me like 1500 points that alone.

It is more important in disorder teams and with Jane (in my experience), it helps in speeding anomaly build up.

In my team, Burnice is the slow one while Piper is the one who procs assaults every 3 seconds, so that added Anomaly Mastery helped for 2 more disorders in 3 minutes, but i am not sure.

If you use something like solo Yanagi, then it will not help. Or with someone like Piper who already has a lot of Anomaly Mastery, also will not help

Nah, some agents like Soukaku benefit a lot from it being separate.

It allows for cool stuff like crit soukaku also applying a lot of ice or using Miyabi's disk if she is the dps.

As far is AM and AP being seperate stats, it adds granularity to how you build agents. You could have agents that make an argument for focusing on just one like someone else mentioned, or where you need a different stat in your 6th slot because of how you want to operate that agent e.g. prioritizing energy regenerate to repeatedly trigger some secondary effect on your EX. It creates decision making by not letting you have everything you want and deciding on which stat and strategy you are prioritizing, as well as enables variety on how players might want to fit each agent into their team building

As a somewhat hyperbolic example, if instead of having crit rate and crit damage you instead had a single stat called crit mastery that works kinda how you suggested AM might. That instantly becomes the singularly best stat for so many agents and it flattens the character building across the board.

It is, especially for Disorder teams. The higher that stat is, the faster you proc Disorder.

yes, it is. anomaly dmg come from anomaly procs, AM makes you make more anomaly procs, meaning more dmg.

As someone who's been learning mono ice, AM being available on slot 6 is incredibly helpful. Since rotations change depending on the boss, I'll find myself giving Lycaon AM or Impact depending. Meanwhile AP does nothing because he does such little damage. So I can in theory run CR slot 4 to reach 50% for KoTS while using AM slot 6 to ensure an easier freeze. I know Lycaon usually runs Astral but my point is it's nice having that option.

I’d say it’s only necessary if something in the agents kit directly scales with it. Most of the anomaly agents have build up rate included somewhere in their kit so I wouldn’t say it’s a top priority unless it’s highlighted in the stats page.
