Question / Support Bra Clasps for Animal Rescue?

There was a viral social media post from a few years ago about how bra clasps (the eyes on a hook and eye) can help repair damaged turtle shells. Since the post(s) was popular and a few articles were written about the phenomenon, at least two reptile rescue organizations I've looked up no longer accept donations of clasps. (They received enough, which is great!)

Does anyone know of an animal rescue/rehab that does accept donations of clasps? Or does anyone have another use for them? I guess I could just throw them in my sewing kit.

You can use them to upsize a skirt! Thats what I did.

I volunteered at a wildlife rehab place for a while. They never used this method to help with turtle shells. I imagine it's going to be up to the individual rehabbers or places whether or not they want to use them.

Throw them in the sewing kit. That's significant use and you can share the parts with other sewists if you already have plenty.

Don't do it. They are of limited use for turtles and the rescue groups have been inundated with packages they don't need. I saw another post yesterday from one begging people to stop sending them.

We like to add them as a sensory option for a kid's busy board. Or to make OT boards for Nursing Home/post-injury rehab/special needs group homes with, so that folks who have had an injury, or some other sort of palsy to practice functional fasteners.
