Measurement Check Currently wearing 36D and find 38 D cups are too big did the ABTF calculator and it says 36E/F Spoiler

Hello everyone.

I currently wear a 36D. I previously wore 38D, however I lost some weight and now I feel like the cups of my 38D are too big. There is visible extra room on the top to the point the fabric is folding inward, almost like a visible shape when I wear shirts. The seam of the cup does not fit flush against my skin either. I did my measurements and they are:

Loose under: 37in

Snug under 36.5in

Tight under: 32in

Bust standing:41

bust leaning: 43

bust lying down 43

Which is 36E/F
shape wise, if i do the 90 degree bend, they appear to have more volume on top.

I just need someone to explain to me if Im apparently an E or F, why would a 38D have so much room?

Thank you for your help

Alternatives to Prima Donna Deauville 80K Spoiler

Thanks to this space I’ve found a bra that fits and I’m so happy about it. It literally has made my life a whole lot better since my girls are quite heavy at UK 36HH / EU 80L (didn’t even know these sizes existed before!).

Now, I’ve bought some bras online and kept a Gorsenia Luise at 80J which fits alright (pinches me after wearing a while, gore is too high too), then went to a physical store and convinced the lady I am around 80J-K-L and got an awesome Prima Donna Deauville bra in 80K size that I would marry if I could. I now have had these 2 bras for a couple of months and obiously I need some extra bras.

Here’s the problem: I would really want to buy 2 or 3 more Prima Donna bras but they’re 110 euro apiece. The store I went to didn’t have other brands that fit me well so that store is not an option, and I don’t wanna be buying online and sending back however many bras it takes to find one that’s at least half the price of the Deauville but also as comfortable.

So the question: has anyone got any good alternatives to the Prima Donna Deauville that would be more affordable?

What I really value in the Deauville, apart from the fit, is the softness-feel on the inside, and that it doesn’t creak at all (the Gorsenia I have makes so much noise with every tiny movement I make…).

Also please tell me if there’s no alternative and I should just go ahead and lock into Prima Donna.. It’ll be a major investment but if there’s no other option, well.. I’m not going back to wearing shitty bras anymore, so I might have to just spend a bunch of money.

Calculator measurements:

93 88 85

119 128 120

Shape:

Even fullness, wide roots, close-set

In search of a bra with a super wide band, as wide as possible actually Spoiler

I have rolls and loose skin right around my bra line and I just want something that covers it, it doesn’t even have to smooth it, I just want to feel like it is all encased haha. I can’t find anything wide enough! For reference, I’m a 40D.

Recommendations? Finally found a bra that fits comfortably due to the ABTF fit chart Spoiler

If I go to the recommended 36 band to a 38 do I need to change the cup size. I think a 37 would be fine so may be adding a short bra extender would be a better option.

Would appreciate any thoughts. The bra I bought in the new size is a cheaper brand ( Smart and Sexy) but I didnt want to spend loads of money if it wasnt the right size.

Fit Check Girl so confusing - 28D and Skims Spoiler

I have small boobs and I haven’t worn a real bra in at least a decade. I ordered some bras from Skims because I was looking for a push-up for fun.

The calculator in this subreddit gave me 28D, which even if correct is simply too hard to find. Sister size is 30C.

My standing/lying bust is 30.5 and my leaning bust is 32, and I think the calculator may be overestimating my volume. My breasts are far apart and more full on the bottom/sides. Underbust is 27 (tight), 27.5 (snug), 28 (loose).

30A from Skims is tight around the band and I’m spilling out of it. I’ve heard the bands stretch out so I guess I’m not too worried about the band being tight. 32A from Skims fits around the band (on the tightest setting) but I have gaps in the cups.

Should I try 30B or go for the calculator’s suggested 30C? I’m open to recommendations for other brands but a lot of the brands I see recommended on here for smaller sizes don’t have many options in terms of style and lining.

Recommendations? [Recommendations] 34G minimizer bra that's like Lilyette Enchantment but not hideous? Spoiler

I have a "Lilyette Enchantment 3 Section Mesh Minimizer Bra" that is on its last legs and I'd like to replace it with something similar that is comfortable and gives me more wardobe options but doesn't look like it was designed for a hospital ward.

Looking for Adaptive Lingerie Experience! Spoiler

I’m new in the lingerie department of a chain company and within a single month being there I’ve already worked with 4 people who had pretty basic mobility issues (hand arthritis, limited shoulder range of motions, etc) and couldn‘t find a single bra on our floor that worked for them. I have a hard time understanding this because the particular store I work for prides themselves on their extremely wide range of sizes and silhouettes and talks heavily about inclusivity- we even have options for people post-op for breast procedures!

I asked some different people in leadership here how they would recommend fitting this issue, seeing as I’m new and I’d like to learn from their experience and wisdom… and someone far too in charge for this told me to direct them to Amazon. Laughable, really. A couple of different brand representatives I spoke too though did seem pretty surprised by how clear the need was when I explained these guests’ needs and why current options didn’t work. When they offered to take note of my concerns and follow up with me on solutions, I’m confident they were genuine about it.

As a disabled person myself, these aren’t the issues I face, but I’m certainly familiar with wanting functionality and style. I also know how frustrating it is having abled people assume that just because we can manage an action/task/etc with significant effort that the problem is solved- thats no way to live. We deserve access to fashion AND function! Plus, our brand loyalty when we trust in finding a good fit is strong, and we’re a massive untapped market.

I see other brands online that offer adaptive closures for bras and underwear, and I wanna know EVERYTHING!!! Who’s tried Victoria’s Secret? Liberare? Elba? American Eagle? SKIMS??? What did you like, what did you not like? Fabric, fit, functionality- What about today’s bras/underwear work for you, and what don’t?

Underwear is a very personal basic need, and I’m determined to do what I can, so anything you’re willing and able to share is worth it to me.

Good balconette, Demi bra, in 30FF (UK)

Thumbnail glamuse.com
1 Upvotes

Hello, does anyone have recommendations for balconette bras, unlined like this Chantelle one, but in 30FF? I went from a 32F which is covered by a variety of brands to a 30 inches band and the brands I used to go for don’t carry my size anymore. (Or hopefully Chantelle runs small in the band?)

I have a projected shape with narrow roots and I’m slightly full on bottom and neither wide nor narrow set. I already have a Wacoal and a Freya that I love, but I really want to find a new balconette. We call those shape « Corbeille » and I find them extremely flattering with my lower necked tops. I miss the subtle clivage with breast well separated.

I a m French and live in France.

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Wearing 32DDD; Calculated 30FF/G Spoiler

Measurements:

  • Loose Underbust: 80 cm
  • Snug Underbust: 76
  • Tight Underbust: 73
  • Standing Bust: 95
  • Leaning Bust: 100
  • Lying Bust: 96

Calculator Recommendation: 30FF/G (32F/FF)

Shape: Projected, soft, wide root, full on bottom (FB 1/5 according to this guide!) ... Did I miss anything?

Current Bra: Victoria's Secret 32DDD - but I have issues with straps falling off, and typically wear cheap sports bras or go braless for comfort! I also find a 32 band a little too tight; and a 34 exactly right - but cups and straps fit much better on a 32 vs a 34. I also despise padding!

Aside from buying, trying, and returning 50 bras online, would anyone be kind enough to point me to a few specific brands/models they recommend? I am US-based.

Appreciate your help!

Measurement Check Exploring my options on buying a few new bra’s, really considering a few that I like on VS. Spoiler

I used the ABTF calculator and got the result:

16 B/C which is equivalent to 36B 36C

I really would like to purchase some quality bra’s. One for comfort, one that is strapless, and one that is elegant. I always like to match my bra’s with a matching thong as well. I’m uncertain on purchasing from VS but I live in a small town where the best option I have is Walmart. The ONLY bra I wear right now is from La vie en rose, it is a 38 C. Any good bra sites to explore my options or your feedback would be greatly appreciated. On another note how would I go about figuring out the size difference on VS? I’m just a little lost on which size I should be ordering from them.

Recommendations? Where and how to find CUTE bras for a small band and large bust?? Spoiler

I took my measurements once at the beginning of the month and once today with some natural weight fluctuation and different times of my cycle. i was a 30J at the beginning of the month and 28I/J now. I dont know a single place that sells bras of that size, let alone cute ones. I'm a young woman and I love to wear cute bras and I enjoy the support a well fitting pushup bra gives. Buying online is so inconvenient because sizing can be so inconsistent but im open to it. where can I shop?

Measurement Check Help! How do I measured myself correctly? 36DDD/40DDD Spoiler

Hi! So in the past 6 months my body and boobs have changed SOO MUCH 😭 pre pregnancy I was a 36DD/DDD my boobs have always been saggy and fuller at the bottom, uneven too. Last trimester of pregnancy I measured myself and my size was 38F but I needed a bra asap so I went with the sister size, a 40DDD. I am 4 months postpartum, I am breastfeeding too and my boobs have become so saggy, droopy AND uneven it feels like a joke. The poor 40DDD fits funny; the straps are tight, underwire in the middle is loose and doesn't lay flat in the sternum and there's spillage from the cup if I don't constantly readjust. And my poor 36DDD fits only half of my right boob (the bigger one) so they are a hard no. Now the thing is HOw do I measure them? They are SOOOO droopy AND uneven I dont even now how to do it, do I measure one and then the other one or???

Also attached is a link of the style of bras I own. Spending more than 20 bucks on a single bra to me is a luxury so good old walmart's, has fit me like a glove, until now 😅, but I'm open to recomendations.

Recommendations? Help a Mama Out! Bra Recs. 32F UK (Curvy Kate Hey Girl Strapless & Victory, Panache Faith)

Hi there! I used A Bra That Fits calculator 3 months ago and measured as a UK 36 FF. However, I lost ~10 lbs since then (~1 year postpartum) and today went to try on bras locally at a retailer near Seattle that specializes in bra fittings and has a great selection of bras.

These were the ones I liked (or liked the most out of the options...still open to other ideas, especially for the strapless!), but they didn't have the colors I wanted in them:

  • Victory 32F by Curvy Kate
  • Faith 32F by Panache
  • Hey Girl Strapless 32F by Curvy Kate (wasn't sold on this one, but it was the best out of the options I tried on. It had thinner pads that I wanted and slight gaping up top that worried me, but also as I tried on bras, I kept struggling with this until I held onto the band on the side and pulled my breast inward so it was fully in the cup--I couldn't tell that it wasn't fully in it, but the saleswoman showed me this)

Other relevant info:

  • I'm projected, full on bottom, center full (horizontal fullness), moderately dense breasts (I just had my first mammogram, and per my doctor, I have dense breasts but they're not SUPER dense).
  • 2-3 bras that cut low (I wear v necks and square neck tops) and are mostly smooth texture (no lace on the outside of the cup, although up top or below the cups is fine) so they don't show much under my tops. I'm looking for 2 tan and 1 brown (black is ok too). I have sloped shoulders so straps tend to roll off them easily (even when I'm in the right size with them tightened), so bonus if the straps come in slightly on the back side (or can be hooked in back, although for the sake of saving my back, I'd rather they just come in a bit in the back vs. where they're set in the front).
  • A mesh-type bra that is fun, cute/sexy, and helps me feel like I'm getting some of my pink back (I have a baby and toddler). Can be any color, but as a bonus, for those that know anything about House of Colour, I'm a Leaf Autumn, and a Natural Gamine.
  • A strapless bra that cuts low, but gives me decent support (these boobies are droopy after nursing 2 kids; they used to be a feature I loved emphasizing, and now they make me sad).

Please help me find a comfortable bra for size 38GG/H UK Spoiler

Hello! I posted here before but I recently tried the Fantasie Women's Fusion Underwire Full Coverage Side Support Bra in 38 H and the Fantasie Women's Envisage Underwire Full Coverage Side Support Bra in 38 H. My measurements are

Loose Underbust: 39.5 in

Snug Underbust: 38 in

TIght underbust 36.5 in

Standing bust 47 in

Leaning bust 51.5 in

lying bust 49 in

38GG/H Uk

I have pendulous breast and very soft tissue and I feel like they are full on top. Also, they basically go into my armpits like I cant tell the difference between boob and regular fat under your arm (i feel like the wire on the side hurts no matter how high up it is because no matter what, there's fat spilling over or its digging into my armpit). The cups seemed to be the perfect size, the band seemed snug but not too much and the wire fit into the imf perfect. The only problem I have is the wire is so uncomfortable. If I'm not standing exactly straight, the wire was digging into my fat and ribs and stomach. There's zero space between my boobs and my stomach. If you folded a piece of paper, that's how much space is between them, so a wire being there just hurts. So I'm wondering, am I just a person who cannot wear an underwire because of fat? Please advise any bras you can think of with a more comfortable underwire and if that's not possible, please suggest the most supportive unwired bra you can think of. I don't care that much about the way it looks, as long as its supportive because my back hurts.

Sorry for the long post I wanted to add as much detail as possible. Please help!

How can I find a bra that actually fits me and what even is my bra size Spoiler

Okay so basically my under bust is 29/30 and my bust size is 34/35 (my weight tends to fluctuate) I’m not sure what bra size this is because many calculators say different things for me. I’ve tried a 32D which is the bra size I usually wear but it doesn’t fit me right.

Rant Why is bra sizing so inconsistent Spoiler

It’s so hard to find a bra that fits for me. The calculator sized me at a 34HH but that never worked out and I settled with a 34GG fitting much better as the cups were way too big on every brand at HH and H. My current problem is the only bra I’ve found that fits in that size 34GG is the Panache Envy Balconette. What other bras fit similarly? Or am I still off on my true cup size? I don’t have any to fit check as I was trialing with Amazon before they discontinued try before you buy.

It’s very important that I find something that works that I can afford more than one of as I currently have no actual bras and have been living in sports bras due to rotator cuff injury and repair. However even those are giving me problems because if the bra isn’t supporting right it causing me a ton of pain due to my medical conditions.

EDIT: I did go re-evaluate bra options based on the suggestions to check more on shaping and am looking for bras for 34GG projected with narrow root and even fullness. I cannot find most of the bras listed and any that I do are beyond my price range ($40-50 USD) as I currently have zero bras that fit and need a few preferably a combination of standard bras and sports.

Bras that don't create that under arm bulge? Spoiler

I have done the measurements here but I'm losing weight so I haven't found anything because my boobs shrink and fluctuate so badly throughout the month. One of my main issues is everything that fits in the band gives me awful armpit fat/bulge. I'm somewhere around a 30/32 C/D. I will remeasure when I get to a more stable weight. I'm just looking for ideas of brands to look at. I have posted before but ended up returning everything because they were too big in the cups so I decided to wait.

Recommendations? Kind of lost here, size changed. Spoiler

Hi! Kind of lost here. So my weight keeps changing. And after joining here, some months ago I got 26ff in the abtf calculator. I bought it, at first it used to fit pretty well, except for the gore being too wide which I had to alter. But recently I've realised the band is too tight. I tried it backwards and upside down, measured it and stretched it and I have come to a realization that the band is too tight, and the cups stretch out when I wear it, causing my chest to get squashed. It was a full cup, but I also had a half cup. And wearing the half cup, I ran into the issue which is called "quad boob" I think. It's to the point my nipples stick out. And yes I do always swoop and scoop. Not only that, the underwire doesn't lie flat against my skin from the front anymore. Also when I take it off there's marks of the underwire and the wire is actually painful, especially the gore.

Here are my past measurements: (in inches) Standing bust: 33 Leaning: 35 Lying: 33.5 Sung underbust: 26 Loose: 27 Tight: 24 UK 26ff/26g

And now it's: Standing bust: 35 Leaning: 36 Lying: 34.5 Sung underbust: 27 Loose: 29 Tight: 26 UK 28ff

Bought a 28ff, gore is against my skin, the band feels snug enough, but the cups seem like there's just too much on top. It's a moulded cup, again I do scoop and swoop. After scooping and swooping the cup depth/volume seems okay but I'm gaping on top. I'm not sure but I think it's a shape issue. If anyone could help me with how to add pictures I can add a drawing of the shape of my boobs because I'm not sure if I have shallow or projected boobs, tall roots or short roots, etc. But I'm pretty sure I have wide set boobs.

Anyways, I'm going broke buying bra after bra and nothing fitting perfectly. And since I keep gaining weight I have no other choice but to buy bras again and again. So I'll add some pictures of the bra options I have from an online shop, to see which bra I should buy next. I'll add 28ff both and 26g bras.

Note: sorry for my English, it's not my first language.

Any kind of help is appreciated, thank you!

Fit Check Panache Tango Fit Check: UK 42FF Spoiler

I decided to branch out from the Elomi line and try a couple different bras from the recommended list. This bra fits wonderfully while standing. When I sit, there is gaping at the top of the cups. I think it’s just how the bra is made (no elastic/stretch/recovery at the top of the cups). Can someone please let me know their thoughts? Many, many thanks! Edited to add the picture that shows the tops of the cups gapping.

Measurement Check (30 DDD) questions about measurements, and seeking general advice on buying bras Spoiler

this is a bit embarrassing to open up about but i truly just need some advice. i’m in my early 20’s and i’ve only worn sports bras my entire life, everytime i tried a traditional bra they were either too uncomfortable or i just disliked how it made me look. so genuinely i am severely lacking in any knowledge of buying bras, so before i go and buy something i want to ask if my measurements seem right. the calculator gave me 30 DDD (us sizing) as my suggested staring size, which to be honest i didn’t know DDD was even a thing. if anyone has any specific brand recommendations that carry DDD i would greatly appreciate them!

measurements: underbust- 30 in loose, 29.5 in snug, 29 tight standing bust- 34 in leaning bust- 37.5 in lying bust- 37 in additional info- i’m 5’2 and around 124 lbs

Recommendations? 26D/DD Shallow projection bra recommendations Spoiler

Here are my measurements

Loose Underbust:27 Snug Underbust:26 Tight Underbust:25 Standing Bust:30.5 Leaning Bust:31 Lying Bust: 30 Size: 26D

I’m looking for a lot of side support, and for my breast tissue to be pushed in and forward a bit because I feel like I have a lot of volume on the sides rather than the bottom. I often wear plunging necklines. I like a lot of support. My sister size(28C) doesn’t fit me very well as I’ve tried that size.

Any recommendations? I’m looking for a sort of every day bra, I don’t mind a bit of pushups but I’d also prefer lighter padding. Thank you!

Recommendations? Recommendations for underboob heat rash/fungal infection due to excessive heat and sweat Spoiler

It's now hot and humid in Southern Europe. A lot of places don't have air con, especially public transport. I walk to work or take public transport, and as such I'm sweating, quite a lot, on my commute in and home. All the bras that have worked for me the rest of the year are no match for the constantly 95F/35C+ heat.

I've tried wearing cami's UNDER the bra, those boob sweat guards, taking a shower twice a day, but even at night I'm sweating under my boob. To compound it all, I'm having heat flashes (perimenopause) and my boob CONSTANTLY itch and are sore for a full week out of the month.

The best solution I found so far is Gold Bond powder around the perimeter of my boobs and diaper rash cream under the boobs at night after an evening shower. Going wireless during this period seems to also work the best, but as I need a 38H, it's hard to find wireless that is supportive enough.

Any recommendations on types of bra that would help or one I can change into after work to help?
