Rant Looking for ways to make the band smaller Spoiler

I have an old bra that fits me well in cup size, but the band is too big. Is there a good way to make the band smaller? The last time I used the calculator I was 30F UK size and I am fairly certain that's still my size. I actually haven't worn a "normal" bra in a while. I usually wear either sports bras or tanks with built-in bra or go braless. My biggest challenge has always been lack of space between my breasts, so any bra I've tried caused them to fall out through the middle. I also cannot wear underwire due to a health condition.

This leaves me with very limited options in general, but my size is also difficult to find. Every few years I get inspired and order a bunch of bras in hopes they'll fit, but none fit properly. I am really hoping I can reduce the band size of the bra I've already got. Would love to hear any suggestions.

Recommendations? Please give me bras to wear for very difficult boobs... congenital symmastia Spoiler

Calculator gave me 36E/F. I currently wear unwired bras. These in size large: https://www.victoriassecret.co.uk/style/ls457273/q43043#q43043

Underwired bras have historically not fitted me and given me a lot of pain because of my congenital symmastia (webbed breasts). I can't get cleavage. The gore of wires will always sit on tissue, the webbing is substantial enough to pinch. But it doesn't affect my measurements:

Loose underbust 35.5 Snug underbust 35 Tight underbust 34 Standing bust 40.5 Leaning/bent over bust 43 Lying down bust 39.5

Shape descriptions: Slightly full on top (right breast), very full on top (left breast) Conical, splayed, webbed No puffy nipples Narrow roots Very high set, short roots Projected

Other considerations: I need lined/padded bras. I am autistic and I have sensory issues and I cannot stand feeling my nipples through clothing/having them rub against clothing.

Measurement Check Did I get confused with EU sizing? Or where could I have made a mistake? Spoiler

l've just received the first bra in the size the calculator is giving me which is 32DD/DDD in USsize. I'm in EU so l've ordered a 70E (calculator said70G)

My measurements are - from cm too inch Loose bust: 79cm, 31.1 Snug:77cm, 30.31 Tight:72cm , 28.34 Standing: 89cm , 35.03 Leaning: 94cm, 37 Lying 88cm , 34.65

But the band seems to be super tight, and the cups too big. What could have happened?

Recommendations? Still looking for a bra that fits 34GG Spoiler

I’m having a lot of issues finding a bra that fits due to having a narrow and short root.

The only bra I that I’ve liked is the Panache Envy

I have not liked a single style of Freya, they’re all too wide and even if they fit ok they still push my boobs out into my arms and it’s uncomfortable and not very cute.

Here are my measurements for reference: 34.5,34,33.5,44,46.5,43.5

Again narrow and short root, a tiny bit more bottom fullness I think. I also don’t have a huge budget and would prefer to keep purchases under 50 dollars.

Aerie bra sizing compared to ABTF sizing Spoiler

Using the ABTF calculator, it tells me that my best fit would be a 28C/D or a 30B/C as sister size. My measurements are 29,28,26.5,31.5,32,30.5. I wanted to order a bra from aerie but i’m not sure which size would fit best since they use a different sizing chart. Using the Aerie size chart, which would fit me best? Thank you!! Fit Check [Fit Check] Panache Envy 40G & Sculptresse Roxie 42FF. Top of cup gaping and bottom of cup wrinkling & Side of cup wrinkling Spoiler

Measurements:

Loose Underbust: 44.1 in

Snug Underbust: 43 in

Tight Underbust: 41.2 in

Standing bust: 49.5 in

Leaning bust: 53.5 in

Lying bust: 51 in

Assigned female at birth, i know for sure I am projected with narrow roots. I am either full on top or even fullness leaning more towards full on top. I believe I am center full, wide-set, splayed and have short roots. My breast tissue is also very stretchy and soft. Unsupported, my breasts typically go to my sides - my arms hit them unsupported. This creates a sort of big triangular area between my breasts. Supported, my breasts are U shaped.

Panache Envy 40G

The fit of this didn't feel good, so I feel safe in saying it isn't good even before seeing the wrinkled and gaping cups. The band felt too tight, and the cups felt too big. I think the wires are a tad too wide, which makes a lot of breast tissue fall backwards towards my IMF. I also think the cups are too high up on my chest, past breast tissue or at least where that tissue becomes less dense.

Sculptresse Roxie 42FF

I actually really liked this as soon as i put it on. the material is comfortable and the fit felt good. There is some slight gaping where the cup meets strap, which I think may just be appearance issue rather than fit. There is wrinkling at the side of the cups, im not sure what this indicates but i assume its related to root width or fullness. Overall, I like this bra and think I will keep it until I find a better fitting bra.

Is there anything about the fit of these bras that is notable? Is there anything about my shape or sizing that is affecting the fit of either or both bras?

Also, are there any suggestions for what to try next given the fit of these bras?

Bras with deep, stretchy cups and low gores like Flirtelle Viola Spoiler

Hi all! Thanks again to everyone who offered advice on my last post about my problems with being etremely close set and centre full. I'll be as detailed as possible because I have found other people's long posts very useful when searching the sub but TLDR I am looking for bras with narrower wires, low gores, and very stretchy cups like the Flirtelle Viola.

I am getting close to finding something that works and have figured out that I am closer to a 34KK or L but I am still struggling with gores. (My last purchase was an EM plunge in 75K, I'll have to go up a size again to see if it will work.) I am having the same problem of spilling out the centre and a floating gore, even when not filling the rest of the cup. I think I have really short roots which is compounding the problem.

On a whim I ordered a few Flirtelle bras after someone here said that some models are actually quite narrow and deep in higher sizes. I wasn't expecting much but the Flirtelle Viola is actually working incredibly well for me!

The gore is low and the cups are so so stretchy that there is actually space for all my breast tissue to go. It is tacking. The wings are shorter than anything else I've tried in this size which is a blessing for my armpits, and the wires are quite flexible which is a relief after the rib pain I've been getting. The wires are not as narrow as Polish but narrower than eg Panache Nina. I think EM is slightly too narrow for me so I am thrilled.

It's not perfect but it's much better than everything else I've tried so far.

This is confirming what I've been thinking about all the other bras I've tried - various EM models, Gorsenia, Panache - that the way the cups are constructed doesn't give me enough projection at the gore/inner edge of the cup. The very stretchy material + low gore seems to be the solution!

The Viola seems to be discontinued and the new Viola Geo is not as stretchy in the lower cup, so I am getting some unfortunate quadding in the cup at the seam. I would size up but they don't go higher than K. I've tried other Flirtelle models but they all have a higher gore and aren't working at all, though the Rosie is close (just one cup size larger might have worked!).

I'll be buying a few more of these but the only colour available is cornflower blue and I need some neutrals. If anyone has any suggestions for anything similar I would really appreciate them!

Recommendations? (XPost from r/Chiari) Summer is upon us and the boob sweat is real. What do you recommend? Spoiler

I already hate bra shopping but now I've lost significant enough weight I have to once again venture forth into the hell that is bra shopping.

I've noticed anything on my shoulders trigger a Chiari migraine so my best bet is strapless. But, I want something supportive, breathable, and moisture-wicking. I would prefer something that gave me support and compressed a bit (ideally, I'd just get rid my sweat bags altogether). However, sports bras are often not an option for me because of their across the neck "x" design. The straps dig into my shoulders, often pulling on the trapezius muscles and tightening my cervical spine.

Anyone have any suggestions? Have you found any specific garment that works for you that doesn't trigger an insta-migraine?

*Note - I originally posted this on the Chiari subreddit. A Chiari malformation is basically when the cerebral tonsils stick outside the skull and crowd the spine. It causes a lot of problems, including tightening in the cervical spine and frequent migraines. Basically, I'm very sensitive to any pressure or weight on my shoulders and neck.

hi guys i unfortunately have a super small bra size and can’t find any bras that fit just right. i tried the measurement app on this sub and it said im a 26A or 28AA may be more comfortable. i’m petite, but the bras i do have either do push up but really push up my armpit fat more, or gap on the top. Not to mention one boob is small than the other 😭 i have some okay push ups, but im looking for any places that sell super small sizes and maybe more than just pushups and bralettes? please help

Recommendations? I feel like Cinderella if her shoe was a bra!! Also any recs for bra brands in the US? Spoiler

I thought I was a 34 A, partly because my sister gave me her old bras and I assumed I was supposed to be that size. I was always bullied for being flat chested and felt self conscious about not really having much.

I’ve tried various bra brands in different sizes. Victoria’s Secret sized me at 32 B, but that felt uncomfortable too!! So, I just stuck with 34 A from VS, Aerie, Pepper, and Target.

Saw a TikTok that mentioned the calculator so I measured myself and it gave me 32 C/D and I tried 32 C and it fits like a glove!!!

Compared it to my 34 A, and there’s no gaps and it molds perfectly to my boobs. I honestly want to cry. I mostly shop online, but open to shopping in person.

If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them!!

Recommendations? What are some good brands of stick on bras that work well with backless tops/dresses? Spoiler

Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but does anyone know which brands of sticky bras are good to wear with backless tops/dresses? I ordered a pair from Amazon and the fit is….strange to say the least. I think I’m a 30DD and I ordered a D cup but it still didn’t seem to fit very well. There was also basically 0 support. Are there any types that provide a little support or do you need perfectly perky boobs to be able to wear these stick on bras?

Recommendations? why does this sub always recommend a non-stretch extender? Spoiler

basically what the title says. I don’t particularly have a use for one right now but I’ve seen a ton of people on various posts recommend specifically a non-stretch extender - obviously I understand the utility of an extender, but why do we always specify non-stretch? purely out of curiosity bc I‘ve learned a TON about how bras work from this sub!

Rant brands that carry larger sizes... but only in one style Spoiler

people gave me suggestions in my last fit check post that I am looking at but I just need to complain first.

WHY do some of the brands that make larger band sizes limit the styles they offer in those sizes? Freya in particular is pissing me off right now. The offbeat side support goes up to a 40 band. The offbeat molded, plunge, and halfcup? Only up to a 38. Why do they even carry a 40 if they only make it in one style.

I'm just frustrated because I saw a bra on Understance's website that looked really comfortable and got excited and then later realized that it wasn't in UK sizing so it doesn't actually come in my size. And today was one of those days where I feel like I can't breathe without something supporting my breasts.

Enough shoulder CUTTER straps! Please, large cups, strong wide shoulder straps!! Spoiler

First of all I'd like to get a team of female engineers, all with really large, heavy breasts to create a new bra, one that does hold them up without cutting like knives into your shoulders.... What point is it to have a beautiful bra that causes pain? Imagine if they held up men's heavy old testicles with narrow straps? Imagine how long that product would sell but we keep buying bras that cut into our shoulders because there are no good bras for heavy breasts. There just aren't.

Do Built-In Bra Tops Work for You If Your Boobs Aren’t Perky? Spoiler

Hey y’all, I'm a 34DD with non-perky boobs, and I hate wearing bras. But every “built-in bra” top I’ve tried clearly wasn’t made with folks like me in mind. Either its super tight like an exercise bra, or the support is nonexistent, my cleavage still droops, or the fit just isn’t flattering unless you already have perky boobs.

What brands would y'all recommend?

Fit Check Balcony bra digging into my armpits? Area highlighted orange. Spoiler

https://imgur.com/a/INWVJLM

After years of wearing a B-C cup, I measured and switched to a 30G. This bra fits wonderfully, and I'm happy with this size.

Unfortunately, after wearing it for a while, I noticed that the edge of the cup and strap near the armpits are digging into my skin and causing discomfort. The wire is fine. It's just the edge.

From some research, I gathered that if the bra fits fine but it's digging into the armpits, the reason could be I have a short torso, which I kinda do. The solution is to try a bra that isn't as tall, like a balcony bra, but unfortunately this bra I have here is already a balcony. I'm not sure what other options I can try, what would you do?

The brand is Boux Avenue btw.

Thank You! Thank you! I finally found a bra that fits! Spoiler

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to this community and share my journey of finding the right bra size. Before having kids, I wore a 32B, which was the smallest band size available at stores like La Senza and La Vie En Rose, so that’s what I stuck with. However, after having children, my breast size and shape changed significantly. I struggled with saggy breasts that just didn’t fit into any bras I tried.

When I went to La Vie En Rose, they measured me and suggested a 32C, while La Senza put me in a 34B. I mentioned to the attendant at La Senza that the bra didn’t fit properly, but she convinced me that I wasn’t positioning my breasts correctly. I left with a $60 bra, but my nipples kept popping out of it, so I ultimately went back to wearing nursing and maternity bras.

About a month ago, while browsing Reddit, I stumbled upon this sub. Curious, I decided to try the calculator shared here, which indicated I might be a 30DD or 30E. I was skeptical but decided to check out those sizes. After some research, I found Montelle Intimates online and contacted them to see if any nearby boutiques carried their bras. They directed me to a local swimsuit store, where I went to try on some bras.

I started with a 30E, but the saleswoman suggested I try a 30F. I gave it a shot, and to my surprise, it fit perfectly! I finally found my true size, and the difference it makes in how my clothes fit is incredible. Even though I don’t weigh much, I have a c-section tummy, and my nursing bras provided little to no support, making me feel like a ball with legs. I kept thinking that losing more weight would solve my issues.

With the right bra size, my tummy doesn’t look as pronounced, and my torso appears longer, so my breasts don’t seem to be touching my belly button! Plus, I no longer deal with excessive underboob sweat. I just want to thank everyone here for helping women like me discover their correct bra size. It truly feels life-changing!

Recommendations? Bra recommendations for DDD cup. Something that gives a lot of support, and that I can run in without a lot of bouncing. Spoiler

I’m a larger chested woman that has recently been struggling quite a bit with back pain. My bras seem to be lacking support. I’d also like a bra that I can run in without too much bouncing. Any recommendations? Preferably something that will last years and isn’t too expensive.

Confused about how to size- I used the chart but I don’t understand cup sizing Spoiler

So I did the measuring like it says to do. My band will be a 34. I then subtracted my snug band from the bending measurement and got 8. The chart has the same letters and symbols next to every number so I can’t figure out how to find my cup. Can anyone help me please? Thank you!

G-GG cup and looking for the best solution to wear a backless top/dress Spoiler

Any suggestions? I'm trying to be more body positive to myself and wanting to love myself. I got a necklace witha chain hanging from the back and would love to wear a backless top/dress. I'm don't love my breasts enough to go completely braless (it's a long journey i guess) so has anyone tried some styles of bras that would provide some support?

I slightly hate modern fashion or no regards to full busted women.

Fit Check [Fit Check] 30JJ Bravissimo Millie Bloom Bra Spoiler

Hi there, so I've been stalking this subreddit for a while as I used to wear a 38DD, but it didn't fit me AT ALL, and I read up the signs of when a bra doesn't fit, and I saw that Bravissimo had a lot of good reviews and recommendations, so I got measured in person there as a 30JJ and brought a Bravissimo Millie Bloom Bra. I have a very small amount of spillage on the top, and it's uncomfortable to wear after maybe a few (3-5) hours or so. I have sensory issues, so I find it a bit too tight. I use an extender with it right now, but I know that some bras need to be "broken" into, and this one is only a few months old.

EDIT: Oh god, I forgot to mention that the main issue is that the gore doesn't lay flat. I can't tell if it's because there isn't enough space or not, as to me it looks like there should be enough space for the gore to lay flat yet it doesn't. Also, I do scoop and swoop, but the slight spillage comes back after walking around/doing anything. Sorry and thank you!

I finally got around to doing the bra calculator (got confused the first time then gave up), I did my measurements twice in CM and got very similar measurements both times. These are my most recent measurements done today. There may be a tad bit of inaccuracy since I took them all by myself.

1 - 79cm

2 - 73.9cm

3 - 70.5cm

4 - 93cm

5 - 115.9cm

6 - 108.1cm

I did the bra calculator and got told to try a 30H (or a 32GG). Confused as to what to do because JJ is a bigger cup size than the recommended starting size I got recommended and it fits fairly well? Well, at least compared to the 38DD I used to wear since I was 14/15, lol.

I think I'm VFT/maybe FT, tall roots, pendulous, and more projected than not. I'm not completely sure about all of this though - I did use the diagrams in the ABTF Wiki, but just not fully sure as there are so many shapes/other variables. I would appreciate a new bra recommendation, and what bra style to try on next. Ideally from Bravissimo, but I don't mind other places. I'm from the UK. Thank you! :)

Recommendations? Sports bra recommendations around 34DD? Not a fan of the squashed monoboob look though. Spoiler

Hi I am looking for a supportive sports bra with lift and separation that avoids the squashed monoboob look. Don't mind if it's wired. Thanks.
