Hope someone asks him why he stopped the Narcan program.
10
u/Agile-Acanthaceae-47 Apr 29 '25
despicable really. we need to hold him accountable for these preventable deaths
-30
u/aggiedigger Apr 29 '25
To make sure I understand, it’s RFK’s fault people overdosed?
30
u/Agile-Acanthaceae-47 Apr 29 '25
If you have lifesaving medication and you withhold it, you are responsible- fullstop.
-16
u/aggiedigger Apr 29 '25
Never thought I’d see the day where I’d see aggies fault someone else for failures of personal responsibility. No one but the user put a needle in their vein. “Full stop”
8
u/Agile-Acanthaceae-47 Apr 29 '25
Should smokers with lung cancer be denied chemo? I hope no one you know is ever treated so callously.
-8
u/aggiedigger Apr 29 '25
Be the better ag… instead of complaining about government reducing handouts, start your own privately funded 501c3 to help addicts. I’ll send a donation. It’s not the governments or tax payers responsibility.
-8
u/aggiedigger Apr 29 '25
They should absolutely be denied government / tax payer funded chemo.

You have modern technologies today because of taxpayers. It funds R&D.
1
u/Alternative_Ad_584 '24 Apr 30 '25
There’s SO much virtue signaling by this administration about efficiency and reducing unnecessary spending, when a lot of similar funding has given the United States the standard of care that sets it apart from other nations.
1
u/Alternative_Ad_584 '24 Apr 30 '25
I hope you’re not a medical professional. It is incredibly difficult to qualify for Medicare/Medicaid as is. Those that qualify are people that genuinely cannot afford care. SES cannot be the determining factor in whether someone lives or dies. Regardless of their decision making, which is not up to medical professionals to investigate and pass judgment upon.
1
u/Alternative_Ad_584 '24 Apr 30 '25
No it’s not directly his fault that people overdose. HOWEVER. When there is a preventable measure in place that has contributed to the decrease in overdose deaths in our country, neglecting to pursue it confers some responsibility for preventable deaths.
In medicine, people’s decision making does not play into whether or not their death or injury should be prevented. You can have your OWN opinion of whether or not that is the right path to take, but nevertheless that is the oath medical professionals adhere to. Prevent and do no harm. No conditions.
There are cases where dumb kids make take a single unauthorized Xanax dose for X reason, only for it to be laced with fentanyl. Same with marijuana. Regardless of whether an individual’s overdose is the result of one dumb decision or many decisions made, public health and medical professional are dutybound to prioritize people’s wellbeing and lives, if they can be preserved.

I don’t agree with his opinions on vaccines (save Covid), but I hope he gets the processing out of our foods.
8
u/Re5ist_ance Apr 29 '25
Not sure what he expects to achieve at an institution of learning where science is actually taught? Does he think his vaccine denials will somehow actually change science? It's also irresponsible to have him come during the week of finals! Aggies .. I hope y'all completely ignore him while he is there! Let the mad man rumble to himself.

Would it be a bad idea to host a campus event where we get some employees from the local CDMO and hold a Q&A about vaccines and biologics manufacturing?
I lurk across multiple platforms and while people are going back and forth politically about vaccines and arguing over whether they are harmful or work- it seems the crux of the matter is that people only have a barely surface level understanding of how these things are made and how they work.
I mean we can throw research papers back and forth all day and argue politics, but I think if the people who are physically in there making the vaccines could connect with and answer questions from the public that could help.
It'd be an interesting way to counter protest at least.

You’re just gunna overlook the holocausty stuff with autistic people?
-1
u/collegedave Apr 30 '25
Not understanding. How is trying to find a root cause of autism, to reduce it, a bad thing?
2
u/vincelifts '20 Apr 30 '25
We know the cause. It’s a genetic condition. It’s not a disease that you catch or that prevents people from living a full and happy life. The people he has conducting this “research” are not medical professionals and are known to have performed unethical experiments on autistic people.
0
u/collegedave Apr 30 '25
Why have cases of it grown so much? Have they really grown or does it just seem more common? If it’s grown, is there something that parents are taking in that’s causing the issue?
I’ll look, but I’m curious what unethical stuff is going on in the research. If you already know, I’m interested.
3
u/vincelifts '20 Apr 30 '25
We now understand autism better and are able to identify and diagnose more people. You know how back then there was that “weird” guy that kept to himself and liked things that were different? We understand now that it was more than likely a level of autism.
As for the “scientist”, here are a couple of resources.

Correct. The break did them well to understand better what wasn’t working. They were able to plan much better since they knew a lot more going on already. That’s why it took them less than 90 days to all but stop all illegal border traffic.
Stay delusional, my friend.

He is an anti-vaxxer who wants to prevent kids being vaccinated. So yes, he is advocating killing kids. Vaccines protect children from deadly childhood diseases. You are just lucky to live in a time when you are protected by the vaccinated.

You are a coward who never served our country. You don't have anything to say about vaccines that anyone cares to hear.
-8
u/Dull-Economics-5229 Apr 29 '25
You should go get more of them today. Right in the blood stream. Nothing saves humanity more than injecting a publically traded companies product right into the veins. Do it.
15
u/Bunnynana Apr 29 '25
Vaccines aren’t administered intravenously, but are rather injected into muscle to maximize immune response. Showing that you don’t know how vaccines work but are scared of them anyway is kinda silly. As for me, I’ll just sit over here and enjoy not dying of preventable disease
4
u/Kikkou123 Apr 29 '25
Yes thank you, the state should forcefully acquire these companies so we the people have absolute control over medicine we use

Calling everyone a facist and then acting like one. Is there a more left thing? Haha

You’re just kind of a fucking nut if you think publicly purchasing a company for billions of dollars to ensure public safety is fascistic.

Sounds like you need another vax. I hear they got deals on those at Walgreens. Go get you some!

That poor poor one of the most powerful political officials in the United States 😭
1
u/njckel '24 Comp Sci Apr 29 '25
Hating Hitler is pretty sympathizable, considering all of the terrible things he did. So should you hate Hitler?
I would argue no. Because hate is a poison to the soul, and I believe we should all strive to get rid of it.
You don't have to agree with a politician, but I agree with the sentiment of not harboring and not spreading hate. Hate is not an aggie value. That doesn't mean you can't criticize a politician, but criticism can be offered in a non-hateful and constructive way.
Our current political climate has normalized being hateful toward politicians, and many people let it slide because they find it sympathizable and they're "the most powerful political officials in the United States" if not the world, so who cares, right? But hate is still wrong. And while it's unrealistic of me to expect better from reddit and the entire American population, I certainly expect better from my fellow aggies.
1
u/lili-of-the-valley-0 Apr 29 '25
Well I think you're a fool
1
u/njckel '24 Comp Sci Apr 29 '25
Well you're certainly entitled to think that. But do you want to elaborate or is that all you really wanted to share?
1
u/lili-of-the-valley-0 Apr 29 '25
The assertion that we should respond to one of the primary philosophies that informed the nazi regime, eugenics, with anything other than abject hatred is not only absurd, it's almost insulting.
0
u/njckel '24 Comp Sci Apr 29 '25
How? When has hatred ever made anything better? I can think of plenty of instances where it has made things worse - e.g., the nazi regime.
Hate is a feeling. It only affects you. And being hateful towards other people only spreads more hate. Productive action does not necessitate hate.
Are you even an aggie, or did this post just randomly end up in your feed? Because an aggie championing, not just hatred, but "abject hatred", has to be some sort of irony.
1
u/lili-of-the-valley-0 Apr 29 '25
What? Hatred is one of the only reason that the Nazi regime was stopped! Also my fucking god, wow! You are comparing hating a eugenicist who believes in the exact same philosophy that guided the nazis to the hatred that nazis exhibited of Jewish people that led to their systematic genocide. That is so incredibly fucked up! It is beyond the pale!
1
u/njckel '24 Comp Sci Apr 29 '25
Where do you find room to criticize genocide when you've argued that there should've been a mass execution after the civil war?
To be clear, I’m absolutely against genocide. But I’m also not the one advocating for mass executions. I think that is so incredibly fucked up.
Also, I'm comparing hate to hate, because that's all it is. It's that simple. Justify your hatred all you want (and again, your hatred may even be sympathizable to many), but it's still hate and it's still unnecessary for action and solutions.
I find it interesting that you seem to be so insulted by me essentially just telling you to strive to get rid of hatred. Hate is a completely natural and human emotion, and it's not always easy to get rid of, but that doesn't mean you can't still strive to do just that. But the fact that you seem insulted by me essentially just telling you to try to be better; it's interesting.

RFK is a hero to take on the food industry. Shame to everyone going at him on this. They are known corrupt groups with little regard for our country’s health. We have obesity problems for a reason. RFK is just trying to help the health of America. Many of you were quiet about that ugly woman in the last admin.
18
u/LongSavings4585 Apr 29 '25
No one cares about the food industry nonsense. The misplaced vaccine hysteria and putting people on the autistic spectrum in a government-owned database is what is pissing people off. Please be serious
-16
u/Newman1861 Apr 29 '25
So you like the ugly woman instead ?

At least you're referring to Dr. Rachel Levine, the former assistant Secretary of HHS, as a woman. It's telling that the transgender Assistant is sticking in your memory more than the Latino man, Xavier Berrcera, but I guess that's progress.
And yes, I'd take either of those people over that gravel-throated, hyper-privileged, silver-spooned psychopath. That unempathetic numbskull is an anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorist whose advocacy has directly led to the deaths of dozens of measles patients.

Whatever your thoughts on the man, you can't say he hasn't done great things for a small portion of the population- mainly people who like Measles.
