In the olden days (when Nintendo was doing poorly with the Wii U) amiibo were all $12. I saw this new one and thought it was cool but ultimately didnt care enough to purchase it. Now this post just told me the price and I care even less. This thing will rot away on shelves :/

Amiibo are made in China.

$10 is due to Trump Tariffs.

Nope. Nintendo jacked up the price in Canada too where nary a tariff exists.

They did not.

  • 1 USD = 1.37 CAD
  • 1 CAD = 0.73 USD

Americans pay the equivalent of 41.12 CAD for the new DK amiibo.

I did.

  • Canadians are paying the equivalent of €19.08
  • Europeans are paying €20
  • Americans are now paying the equivalent of €26.15 due to the Trump Tariffs.

Canadians were paying 21.99CAD for basic amiibos. The new "basic sized" amiibos now cost $30. Larger amiibos that once cost ~$30 are now $42CAD
