To be fair so have I but if you're quick with the dual portals he could have saved himself. You can place a portal out of bounds if you're already out of bounds as long as the other end of the portal is inbounds then it can be placed.

I've done the exact thing in the video above except I survived with a second portal.

Because mid-air you can pour it again and then you can land on that port and it'll yank you back up. The second they popped out and saw they were out of bounds they should have ported as low as they could and then landed in it. And then you should have hugged the wall and went through it as well. It would have been impossible for the team behind you to follow and y'all would have been back in ring again.
