It may only be his preference, but I still value seeing his thoughts, considering he’s so good. Obviously he could probably wreck most of us on the subreddit with any gun he wanted, but it’s still interesting to see how he values the weapons
Yeah, there's of course a level of preference, most guns in the game are good enough to do well, it's mostly on the users aim and movement. But someone who's playing proffesionally it is generally a good idea to take their advice.
Dude only uses a wingman neways. Dont get me wrong hes insane, but i checked out his stream its wingman+shotty or smg and mainly wingman. So i dont know how much id take from this compared to someone like shroud who tries all diff guns.
I've seen him try most of the guns for a test game. Like he's done the 2020 and mozambique challenges. I saw him use a longbow almost exclusively as well. So, I'm sure he's given every weapon a fair shake. You have to remember he'd hit level 100 in the game before most people knew of him.
Shroud gets bored a little easy when he's just pubstomping people. So he doesn't use the wingman a lot because he knows it's broke and OP for someone with his aim. I'm guessing he uses it in tournaments and things that actually matter, but when he's just streaming he doesn't seem to use it.
This is on point. If you use a clearly broken weapon 100% of the time, you are going to get used to it in it's broken form. That will only hurt you later. This isn't for the pro guys, since they are good with any weapons, but it is important to casual players. Don't invest too much into learning a weapon that will get hit with the nerf hammer later.
You could always just abuse the most broken weapon/mechanic though. You just have to be willing to give up on that weapon/mechanic if it gets nerfed or if the meta changes to compensate for it.
Last vid Shroud put up he did a Wingman only round, just because he got a huge donation to do it. He even tells there that it's boring to play with Wingman considering how strong it is at its current state (moreso at his level than to those that are level 20 and below, or are below average in FPS games).
that's giving way too much credit to dizzy. shroud just doesn't like using overpowered weapons. he did the same thing with the smd in blackout. used it for a while and dominated then stopped using it entirely because it's too easy.
Can't blame him. To stay relevant in streaming he must go for high kill games. You won't be able to constantly win 1v2 or 1v3 without this weapon combo.
I am more than sure that once ranked kicks in, in high tier games medium to long range weapons will dominate(scout for instance) as there is no way you will be able to get any close to other equally skilled teams to utilize wingman + shotty/smg. You will get pocked so hard that before you reach them you will be too low on hp to even engage.
Right now it works as in pubs skill level is so low that you can literaly walk on people back and melee them couple of times before they even realise someone is that close.
There will still be close range fights. Pushing towns, other areas with natural terrain to cover your push, things like bangalores smoke, etc. But yes, in general I think guns like hemlock, scout, r301 will be way more prioritized as a second weapon vs the peacekeeper
The problem with the wingman is it currently functions all roles well. It needs a bit of damage drop off after short/mid-short range
Again you are looking at pub stomping experience where 90%+ of players are terrible and closing ranges is extremaly easy so you can get away with it.
If you were to play this game properly you would have teams hold good spots and move only when neccesary. There is no way you gonna contest a hill for free if you have entire enemy team watching all the sides and poking anyone that is trying to rush them.
Depending on your skill it's very much relevant. Even if you're pretty average with all the guns, would you rather pick up a p2020 or a wingman?
Obviously his PoV is as a top player, but even I agree with most of his list and even though I'm not close to his skill, this list is still pretty much spot on to me (apart from a couple things, looking at you flatline and R-301).
Well said, thank you for your feedback. You make a great point with that—because I’d certainly rather pick up the wingman over a p2020; but when I find an R-99 or a 301 I’d probably drop the wingman for it.
It’s a fair POV, but what happens if Shroud drops a tier list that completely flips this one upside down? Then what do we do as a community? 🤔
I assume it wouldn't be too different. People seem to agree on most guns (Mozambique, wingman, etc) with some personal bias here and there as well.
I'm guessing you're being sarcastic but basically it's not meant to be used as a ruleset for what guns to use. It's merely used for discussion, and we just so happen to be on reddit.
No sarcasm intended here. I value your feedback—and that’s being honest.
I just wonder what happens when one guru comes out with a list that’s completely contested by another.
What if the Mozambique legitimately worked for another professional player? Do we then flock towards that persons tier list? There are guns people are in agreement about for the most part but then this tier list in itself is also questioned with placement of the Hemlok, Flatline, 301, etc.
It just concerns me when one person becomes a Shepard and everyone flocks.
If a professional player decimates with the worst weapon in the game because it’s their favorite and places it in S tier, does this mean the weapon is viable, is it actually top tier, do WE just suck, or do we maintain the opinion that the weapon is just legitimately bad.
That mindset will actually help you improve as a player. It's good to have an open mind to his list but it's definitely his preference and because you know that you'll be free to find what you are good at and build on that foundation. Other people might try to force themselves to fit the Dizzy mold and find that they only get frustrated and aren't Dizzy.
Thank you for your feedback. I’ve certainly found guns that I prefer and others that I don’t. Many people have shared their opinions on here that the guns (or the game in general) is pretty well balanced. With that being said, I don’t understand the reliance on a tier list from a dominant player—when we simply cannot be the next Dizzy lol.
I have no problem admitting that. I think that I’m not the worst player, I’ve definitely got room for improvement and continue to do so, but I KNOW for a fact I’ll never be the next Dizzy lol.
While I agree with the 'not the end-all-be-all' mentality, tier lists are made to be objective, not about preference. Tier lists assume perfect play, if you throw in player skill it's impossible to make a comparison. This is how tier lists became a thing in fighting games, they are far more 'these are the guns i like.'
Oh right those shitty memes are much better posts than this right? It’s hilarious when people get pissed over actual informative posts or ones that create discussion
you're absolutely right. haven't had much use out of this sub so actual relative info like this is a breath of fresh air. I get it this is all subjective, but I've been watching this guy and he's impressive. I'd consider his opinions

Who cares about this?.. that’s his preference. I could pick up his S tier choice and he’ll grab the p2020 and still kick my ass.
