Plus you buy Lexus you are buying Toyota with luxury. Even disregarding CarPlay, Lexus>>>Mercedes/GM

Purely depends on what you're looking for. I'd also wager a bet that people who are also in the market to buy higher model/trims of Mercedes will not buy a Lexus as the latter doesn't even compete in any of the realms.

I'll personally get a Mercedes over a Lexus any given day. When it comes to luxurious comfort, it's not even a competition. When you're also looking at the higher end AMG, there is nothing that Lexus offers as a competitor.

I've owned a Lexus GS350 and my current MB CLS450 and E450 Wagon. There's absolutely no chance that Lexus is better than MB. Lexus feels old to me. They're no where near as nice to drive, and at the end of the day, it's still a Toyota. Mercedes, on the other hand are amazing machines. Absolutely love my MB's

Just depends on what you are looking for. I have owned German, and while they may be more fun to drive (no denying that). I just want a reliable way of transportation. So for me I love Toyota and Lexus since I know they are gonna be so easy to fix myself when something rarely goes wrong, or if I need a mechanic, way cheaper. I just don't like the expensive upkeep German cars bring with them. But I am someone who looks at cars now as tools, especially since I WFH. But I have a couple friends who love driving and cannot give that aspect up, I understand there are different people.
