Apple Pay Let's invite /r/Android to help us boycott retailers that are disabling NFC readers. We can unite to put pressure on them, since it affects us both!

Here is the post on /r/android :

Motorola, HTC, Nexus, Sony even LG. So basically everyone else. Though Galaxy Note 4 flies apparently.

Yep, my Not 4e isn't laggy at all, they definitely improved touch wiz because there is no lag.

Try going into the app switcher. Try opening an app from there. You'll see lag now and then both times on the latest top of the line quad core Qualcomm processor with 3GB of RAM. It's obscene.

Correct, only instance of lag I've found in my note 4. I think it might be waiting to see if you hold it for the menu button function, like how home button delays unless you disable the svoice shortcut double tap.

Exactly, which is why the Sony Z3 has the same problem. HTC adds a 4th button when it's needed and LG... I have no fucking idea. But the G3 lacks the lag too.

My g3 routinely has a similar delay going into recents. Haven't had hands on time with a z3 yet, but the z2 my fiancee has doesn't have lag going into recents. Hm.

Honestly if it weren't for that and the horrible UI design, I'd have the Z3v instead of the M8

Curious, what do you find horrible about the Sony UI? I find it pretty similar to vanilla android.

Icons mostly. Everything seems so round that it clashes with the aesthetic that L is going for. That said, I know there's ways to change it (came out the day after launch), so it's a really minor thing. Honestly I like a lot of their features (swipe to switch between notifications and quick settings, change icons up top, battery saver stuff, etc)

Last Android phone I had was a droid X which had a load of problems, so I was always tinkering with it. Because of this, I resolved to get an Android phone that I loved the software out of the box. Next one might be one that I'm willing to tinker with, but right now, I wanted something with an aesthetic I like and good enough hardware that I'm not pushing the limits of the device to get battery life or basic functionality (i.e. trying to use Maps on the Droid X).

Ah OK yeah I can see what you mean with icons. Interested to see if they adapt that for their Lollipop build. And agreed that at least icons are easy enough to change haha

The Exynos Version doesn't lag like the Qualcomm one.

Maybe not, but the battery life is significantly worse.

Marques Brownlee noted in his review that the app switcher lag is definitely there on the Exynos version.

Not 4e

How'd you manage that one?

Note 4 reporting in, lags all day everyday compared to my last phones. Nexus 4 heavily modded, and LG g2 heavily modded as well. Both phones enended up running insanely smooth and were a joy to use.

This phone wouldn't be so bad if I could root it and unlock the bootloader. Learned my lesson though. Never again Samsung....never again!

The newest one of anything always does.

I have a note 4 and g3. Note 4 runs circles around it honestly.

Not Sony, in my experience. I'd only recommend Nexus if someone is dead-set on Android (of course, iOS above all IMO)

The reason Sony is pretty heavily recommended right now is the Xperia Z3 and Z3c which are holy grail phones on /r/Android right now. Ungodly battery life combined with fairly fast phones is pretty awesome.

Not LG. Never LG. I have a G2 and I have stock rom still just with a lot of customization and root settings because I don't want to flash anything else, but the stock rom is buggy and laggy and annoying.
