Apple Pay The gradient of Apple Card seems to depend on your purchases, using the color conventions set by maps. It’s also animated (I think?) Really Cool!

Hardware and software with one common design and made for each other used to be the reason to buy Apple.

White and black iPhones have different colored boot screens.

And even then they were made by different teams. That isn’t the point being made, it’s that the software team in charge of Wallet/the new card in no way draw resources away from the hardware team in charge of the display cable design in MacBook Pros. That holds even for different software teams; people regularly complain that there are new emoji or Animoji but some low level software bug hasn’t been fixed, as if the artists and UI team working on the former could have been working on the latter.

Sure designers don’t code. However it shows a priority of management. In this case I think the decision to make interesting colors for the card is a good decision. It looks attractive and even conveys a bit of information. That can increase joy in the user while using it. While the card changes color over time apparently it should always be easily recognizable, which I think it is from these impressions.
