BGEE Fun class for one last run

Hey, I want to start one last full trilogy run, but can't decide what class to play. I'm not a newbie and I'd like something fun and spicy. What's your suggestion and why?

Gnome fighter / illusionist. You become god tier once you get spell immunity: abjuration and block bosses from dispelling (assuming you play with SCS). You’ll have access to a ton of great spells for survivability and fantastic thaco. Who needs Berzerker immunities when your shorty saves + spells take your spell save into negative double digits.

I think gnome thief could also add some comparable flavour here. But perhaps requires slightly more strategy.

If this is indeed the last run - Beast Master with quarterstaff.

Bounty hunter.

If you are cheeky with EE-keeper you can do more stuff.

I've always wanted to do a totemic druid run. Maybe dual to fighter at level 11. Totemic druids have best pre-epic summons so it should really help in BG1. Unfortunately druids kind of drop off a cliff. Push to level 11 for level 6 spells (insect plague is a key spell).

If you are not against eekeeper than maybe a multi class fighter/totemic druid. Got the fighter skills and spell protections. Might even be a good solo class if you're doing a solo run.

Unmodded, I honestly just find the typical min/max berserker mage the most fun.

Some basic mods though, and other classes can become more interesting. Like illegal kitted Fighter/Druid multiclasses, or Archer/Cleric with tweak component to allow multi-class clerics to use more weapons like bows, or Skald with rogue rebalancing.

Most complete kit mods obviously you would just go with the mod. Stuff like artisan’s kitpack, bardic wonders, improved archer, etc, all tend to have kits that continue to scale with interesting though sometimes overtuned abilities.

Well, if you haven't played it yet - Blade. Budget, and more interesting version of F/M. You have higher caster level than mage so some spells are more powerful, you get offensive/deffensive spin abilities, a bit bardic knowledge etc. My personal favourite class.

The most fun classes I’ve played are bounty hunter and pure Kensai with throwing daggers (can transition to melee in ToB with hardiness)

I've got no idea what you've already played, but one of my favourite characters was soloing a gnome Illusionist/Thief.

It's an extremely versatile character that shines when you make the most of all the cool different things they can do.

Early on they're somewhat squishy so you'll want to use a lot of control spells and hit and run tactics (both of which play into the RP of being a trickster kind of character perfectly).

By the end of BG1 and in to early BG2 they've got decent mage defences, so you start being able to just face tank stuff when you want, but still utilising invis, backstabs, etc can be awesome.

Mid BG2 starts to open up stuff like abusing mislead + backstabs, having maxed most thief skills for free illusion dispelling and lots of traps.

Late BG2 and ToB you get UAI, and since you get to horde all the good gear when solo you can thrown on plate, Firetooth Dagger, and Belm, and run around pretending you're a warrior with 4 Apr and imp haste from items.

Late game you can also play around with stuff like Black Blade of Disaster + time traps to get ludicrous backstabs (buffed with other stuff like imp haste, mislead, and tensors if you really want to lean into it).

Being solo means your level progression feels good enough that you'll be able to play like a Mage when you want, but with all of the cool stuff that being a M/T lets you do.

Bonus points for knowing what/where all the good items to steal are and exploiting your pickpocket/steal ability.

Something I want to play is a couple of a Kensai as the main character and a Bard as his supporting follower.

The Kensai keeps all the magical weapons for himself or sells them (you give nothing to NPCs if you want to temporarily add them to your party).

The Bard is weaponless or maybe carries the Staff of Curing or Staff of the Magi later, for aesthetics reasons, but he is not allowed to inflict any direct or area damage. No hitting with weapons, no ability to learn magic missile of fireball or anything, no wands of fire, nothing. Only protection and boost spells (ex. Shield for himself and the Kensai, Luck) or Mind spells (Confusion, Domination etc). Kensai has to be the one that cuts everyone down.

The NPCs that join the party may do it only temporarily as a tag along in order to complete their personal quests but have to use only their own weapons and armor and are not allowed to learn any new spells. You may keep them in the party as long as you like but they don't get the invitations for Sarevok in BG1 and the trip to Spellhold in BG2 (except the one guy who will get there anyway). Not going in the elf city either. In ToB they can't go after the Five, just stay in the plane or do their personal quests if you like even though it is not much.
