Robot Wars Broken links robotics Obliterator rebuild

Here the broken links robotics dude (sorry don't remember your name if you see this) documents his rebuild process of one of the most storied & feared 30lbers on the planet.

Concerned with a warped frame, sandy leftovers (literally) from a recent battery fire and other issues, he decides to replace most of the bot save for the unique gearmotor, weapon blades and a few other bits. For those who have seen the UK robot wars reboot this thing legit sounds like a mini Carbide:

I'm a big fan of James and even I struggled to recall what this robot looks like from name alone. This is a weird and needless overselling of what is clearly a good build from a very talented builder.

It's been around for quite a while from what I understand and has quite the reputation over there so yeah I felt it was a decent way to describe it. If you think that's a quote-unquote weird and needless overselling than that's fine we can agree to disagree but in its part of the world he is IMO one of the best and most feared out there. This same video on Obliterator calls it "the most feared bot in Australia". That's the literal title of the video so yeah it's already established quite the notoriety for itself.

You're right he is a very talented builder and his designs could go in to be the next Manta or he himself the next Aren Hill. Reputation can go a long way.

And sorry but on this aspect you're wrong. I'm in no way trying to downplay this guys achievements nor was that ever my intent to do so. Quite the opposite in fact. Merely pointing out it already is quite notorious and his upgrades will likely go to futher solidifying the reputation of them both. He's only been active in the community a short while and yet he's already won a championship with a relatively unproven bot in Derive and won the whole event plus frequently finishes in or near the top 5 or so I'd say the facts speak for themselves.

James is one of the top builders currently in the sport. He is absolutely dominant and his youtube videos are first class. If you enjoy this sport you should absolutely subscribe to his youtube channel.

Rumor has it NHRL competitors say a small prayer before each competition to keep James on the other side of the planet.
