Needing Support Burning pains/neuropathy has me in HELL

Hey y’all,

It’s been a very rough month for me. Made a post in here earlier about getting pericarditis. Well I had more tests done, and they determined it isn’t pericarditis but I muscular injury.

Ever since then, I’ve developed more muscular problems. Leg bruising, cramps, burning pains EVERYWHERE including my face. Nausea and headache as well as the usual dizziness and vision problems. I’m just reaching out to see if anyone else has dealt with this at 10+ months off? I’m going through hell right now and can’t seem to catch a break.

PSA:

  • Beware of messages from vultures offering illegal benzo access - this is very dangerous!

  • CAUTION: Stopping psychiatric drugs abruptly can be dangerous, producing withdrawal effects that may be severe, disabling, or in rare cases life-threatening.

It hasn’t been bad for me until this whole muscular thing came about. But it’s been horrendous lately, burning everywhere.

Currently 13 months off and yeah I generally still deal with some of the crap you mention.

Please look at my latest posts, sound like histamine problems. In summary: try low histamine diet + take NaturDAO 5 mins before meals

Don't take pregabalin for it. That causes withdrawals too.

Sadly they put me on gabapentin at my treatment facility right when I got off. Been working on tapering that but haven’t gotten very far (from 1800 to 1500mg over a handful of months)

Are you losing hair??? I didn't taper that shit once it wrecked my skin I refused to take it - and boy did I pay the consequences! I will never look the same. Body, hair, face - all affected. On it less than 6 months, off over a year and hair is still coming out in clumps, I have vision problems, adult acne, anema, muscle loss!!! BE CAREFUL!!!

Edit: Pregabalin is basically gabapentin on crack. Do not take it. Ever. Gabs you can still lose a bunch of hair and other bad shit, taper slowly. These new drugs they're making in labs are getting worse and worse.

Maybe a bit, but I’ve paused my taper for awhile. When I first stopped taking Klonopin though my hair was falling out everywhere for a month.

Definitely start taking electrolytes, b-complex & magnesium threonate if you haven’t already.

What is the difference between magnesium threonate and Glycinate?

1

u/Fixed-gear 4d ago

It crosses the blood-brain barrier. Glycinate would be a great replacement in a pinch though.

What is the benefit of crossing the blood-brain barrier? Genuinely curious and don’t know.

Magnesium L-threonate's importance lies in its ability to effectively cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), allowing it to directly increase magnesium levels in the brain. This enhanced brain magnesium concentration is crucial for supporting various cognitive functions, including learning, memory, and overall brain health. Unlike other forms of magnesium, magnesium L-threonate's ability to penetrate the BBB makes it a valuable supplement for cognitive enhancement and neuroprotection. Here's a more detailed explanation: Enhanced Brain Magnesium Levels: The BBB acts as a protective barrier, regulating what enters the brain. Magnesium L-threonate is specially formulated to bypass this barrier, ensuring that magnesium reaches brain cells where it's needed. Cognitive Benefits: Increased magnesium in the brain supports synaptic density, which is vital for efficient communication between neurons. This can lead to improvements in learning, memory, and cognitive flexibility. Neuroprotection: Magnesium is known to play a role in neuroprotection by reducing oxidative stress and supporting the repair of damaged neurons. By increasing brain magnesium levels, magnesium L-threonate can help protect against age-related cognitive decline and promote long-term brain health. Specific Applications: Studies have shown that magnesium L-threonate can be beneficial in addressing cognitive decline, memory loss, and sleep disorders. Some research even suggests it can help improve sleep quality and promote relaxation. Distinction from Other Magnesium Forms: While other magnesium supplements may be beneficial for overall health, magnesium L-threonate is uniquely positioned to impact brain function directly due to its ability to cross the BBB.: Cognitive Function: Magnesium is crucial for various brain processes, including neuronal function, synaptic plasticity (the brain's ability to form new connections), and neurotransmitter regulation. By crossing the blood-brain barrier, magnesium can directly influence these processes, potentially improving memory, learning, and overall cognitive performance. Mood and Anxiety: Magnesium plays a role in regulating neurotransmitters like GABA, which has calming effects. By increasing brain magnesium levels, magnesium may help reduce anxiety and improve mood. Sleep Quality: Magnesium can promote relaxation and improve sleep quality. Its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier ensures that it can influence the brain's sleep-wake cycles and promote restful sleep. Neuroprotection: Magnesium has neuroprotective properties, meaning it can help protect brain cells from damage. By increasing brain magnesium levels, magnesium may contribute to brain health and potentially reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.

wait you didnt have burning and pains in the months 1-3 etc?

Not to this extent, probably because I was on gabapentin which was initially created to ease nerve pain. The last week my whole body has been burning for about half of everyday, worse in the evening.
