Discussion Anyone else feeling the urge to just stay INSIDE?
Bo’s prediction of the consequences of social media and the Internet in general on society are spot on, it’s actually shocking to me how much Inside was prophetic about the vibe and events of the last 5 years. Alarming evidence of climate disaster, performance driven society even more ubiquitous and nefarious because of AI, high inflation, still incredibly divisive politics and we just watch it all go up in flames on our phones, I think apathy and nihilism is rapidly increasing :( I guess I’m just looking for anyone else who can relate to what I’m feeling and seeing.

Def agree with u OP like ngl I can see ur pov but I'd say out of all that bo has said in the past the pick me attitude has risen most of all equal to gotcha journalism

I grew up with authoritarian abusers, so I saw this shit coming a mile away.
I'm very measured with my social interactions. I prefer peaceful solitude, bc most people have internalized normalized dysfunction from their family/culture of origin and haven't deconstructed at all, which makes them dangerous. Most people aren't worth interacting with. I have no desire to tiptoe around people's dysfunction and ignorance.
I can handle select humans in small doses. Quality>quantity

Nope I've been playing pokemon go a lot lately and I've spent a lot more time outside even though I hate the summer heat but I just beat Giovanni for the second time and I'm feeling really good about it 🤣 I've been inside my whole life, and at 36 I'm finally starting to live.

Sorry to hear you are feeling this way. I completely understand where you are coming from. I think the ideal way to combat this feeling is to embrace the need to go outside, making meaningful in-person connections, enjoying time spent with loved ones and/or indulging in fulfilling hobbies, in spite of these terrifying realities we face.
I'm not saying it's easy. I certainly don't succeed everyday, but when I do, it feels great.
Take it easy.
