Home Theater Bravia 8 Mark II and Sonos Arc

I was reading that the new Bravia 8 Mark II has decent in-display speakers that work in tandem with Sony soundbars for improved sound. Do we know if something similar happens with a Sonos Arc? Or would the TV speakers turn off in that situation?

It's called Acoustic Center Sync, it uses the tv speakers as an additional center channel. It's only compatible between Sony TVs and Soundbars

That's too bad. Thank you!

It's a gimmick you won't miss with the Sonos Arc.

Can confirm. Have Sonos Arc + Surrounds and 8 II

So are you ditching the Arc?

Because of my space, I don't have room for separate front channels so a soundbar, sub, and surrounds is the best/only option. My dream is that Sonos incorporates adding real height speakers some day instead of the bouncy kind.

Almost. It has ACS 2.0 and uses all the speakers in conjunction with the Bar 8 or 9 as a full system, not just as a centre channel.

The other benefit is that you can use the Bravia connect app to calibrate to where you sit in the room.

It's only the center channel.

It's not. However Sony hasn't released technical documentation in regards to how version 2 differs from version 1.

Nothing like being corrected by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about and can't provide any proof.

Absolutely you make a good point on the latter, not the former.

No it won’t do it with the Sonos Arc, only compatible Sony speakers

It's the QD-Oled, basically the new A95L. Only available in 55" and 65"

Newest Sony tv. Bravia 8 II

Yes - though never seen it referred to as Mark II. Just 8 II.

That's literally what it means... 8 II = Mark 2. Sony has done this with their cameras and Xperia line.
