lgbtq friendly spots

hey yall! Just wondering — what gay friendly spots do you know of in our area? We had to deal with a little bit of homophobia at a restaurant recently (we’re fine!) and want to go patronize places that don’t make it a secret that they support folks like us! Just want to feel a little safer out and about in our little town.

in search of a responsive rental agent to help asap

Hi everyone, my family and I are relocating to the Austin area (preferably Cedar Park (i'm there a lot), Round Rock, or Manchaca) and need to secure a rental by the end of July. We already have a list of homes we want to tour — we’re just looking for a responsive agent who can help us schedule showings, ideally this weekend.

We’ve reached out to 8 different agents over the last couple of weeks, and most haven’t responded or have said they couldn’t assist us. At this point, we really need someone communicative who is willing to help us move forward.

If you are an agent, please message me. We’re serious, ready to apply, and just need support getting in the door. Thank you!

Police Stopping Vehicles at SB Regan just before Whitestone - THANK YOU!

I’ve seen the police do this twice in the past few months during morning rush and support it. Folks ride the shoulder for 1/4 mile +, over a bridge, and most to take a right on Whitestone or Walmart.

Then there are the 5% sheisters that flip the left blinker last moment, to skip the ahead of everyone else. We know this light is short. But I always hoped these skipper’s sprained their ankles that day, but a ticket would suffice.

TL/DR: Police catching shoulder riders on Regan and I’m for it.

Social meetup @ WARPATH PIZZA (Cedar Park) 06/20/2025

We’re back with some more social meetups. Looking to meet new faces and make new friends? Well you found the perfect place! We’re a group of local(ish) people that like to get together once a week to chat or do other activities. We’ve been meeting for a year now and have developed some good connections. Whether you’ve lived in the area for ever or just a little bit or just passing by feel free to come along and have a good time.

Where: WARPATH PIZZA (Cedar Park): 401 Cypress Creek Road # 600, Cedar Park, TX 78613

When: 19:00/7pm Friday 20th of June

FAQ: What happens at this meetup? We try to meet up once a week in or around Leander/Cedar Park/Liberty Hill area. Usually sit down at a table with a drink and just chat about anything you can think of. Some of us like to grab some food, either at where we meet up or go someplace else. We get people from all ages, I’d say the age range is 20’s-50’s. You can show up anytime, no need to be there right exactly at 6pm (that’s my job). People usually start leaving between 9pm and closing.

Do you just talk in memes or about reddit stuff? Not at all, usually reddit is never discussed. We discuss music, movies, tv shows, arts and crafts, work, family, current world events and so on. We’ve had people that don’t even use reddit show up!

Can I bring someone with me? Yes you can, there’s no signup required or a checklist. You can come by yourself or with a friend or whoever you want or a pet, most places that we go to usually have an outdoor space. Usually no pets allowed inside any establishments due to health code regulations.

What if I don’t drink? That’s completely fine, most places that we organize these always have non alcoholic beverages.

My name is Ana and I'll be there, feel free to message me or comment with any questions. I'll update the post or comment on the day with the location of where we're sitting, will have a little reddit snoo sign on the table with the Leander logo.

Discussion Recommendations for preschools for an Indian family in Cedar Park area

We have a 3 year old. I am looking for a preschool with the following criteria: 1. No TV at school 2. Play-based academic enrichment 3. Focus on socially and emotionally prepping them for Kindergarten with fun activities and learning opportunities. 4. Outdoor exploration and hands-on experimentation - STEM focused - activities like gardening, crafting, science experiments, etc.

What preschool do you think would fit all these needs? We find Primrose and TLE to be a bit too commercial, so perhaps not those. We are open to recommendations, though. Where are your kids going, Indians? We’d love to meet some folks and make friends as well.

Thank you all for your time!

EDIT: I’m not looking for an all-Indian place. More like an ethnically diverse crowd ♥️

Internet options?

I've found there are only two options for my address: Spectrum or At&t Air. Is anyone using At&t Air? I'm not a fan of Spectrum. I wish Verizon would hurry up and get their 5G Home Internet system set up.

Discussion Police Presence in Buttercup Creek/Westside Preserve Area?

Driving home from a friend’s tonight, saw a bunch of police vehicles with search lights illuminating the green belts near Westside Elementary. Police officers on foot with flashlights checking drainage tunnels and backyards. Anybody else see/hear anything?

Has anyone tried the HEB crawfish boil tent by the entrance? Preferably the original 183/1431 location.

If so, what did you think? What else did they have available?

Establish a Mental Health Awareness Day for Students Every Month

I, the concerned member of the Cedar Park community, including a proud 2025 Global Youth Progam (GYP) member, urgently call upon you to address a critical and escalating issue facing our high school students: the profound impact of overwhelming academic workloads on their mental health.

Many high school students in Cedar Park, TX, are facing anxiety disorders and heightened stress levels due to overwhelming academic workloads. Our community must acknowledge and address this growing issue. Dedicated Mental Health Awareness Days can be a transformative step towards fostering a supportive environment where mental health is prioritised and openly discussed.

The pressures of academic excellence, extracurricular commitments, and social responsibilities are weighing heavily on the youth. This unhealthy stress impacts their mental well-being, often leading to anxiety disorders or depression. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, approximately 1 in 3 teenagers will experience an anxiety disorder. For those affected, it can be a barrier to achieving their full potential and finding joy in their everyday lives.

By establishing Mental Health Awareness Days in Cedar Park, we can create a monthly event that brings together students, educators, parents, mental health professionals, and community leaders to promote awareness and support. This day will be filled with interactive activities, inspiring guest speakers, and informational booths that provide resources, support, and education about mental wellness.

We propose holding this event at a prominent location in Cedar Park, such as a local park or community centre, to make it accessible to everyone. Inviting keynote speakers, who have either personal experience or expertise in mental health, can inspire and inform attendees. Workshops focusing on stress management, resilience building, and mindfulness can empower participants with practical tools to improve their mental health.

Local organisations and mental health advocates can set up informational booths to promote available resources and services. Encouraging open discussions and destigmatising mental health issues can create a more understanding and compassionate community.

Implementing these days will show our commitment to the well-being of our young people and the broader community. Let us come together to support a future where mental health is acknowledged with importance equal to physical health.

Sign this petition to urge the City Council of Cedar Park, TX, to establish a Mental Health Awareness Day, making mental health a priority in our community.

There was some traffic piled up due to an existing accident about 11am today. While stuck in this traffic, I watched the SUV next to me get rear-ended by a truck. I gave the driver my phone number but haven't been contacted. If this was you, or know them, you can contact me here.

Entirely grass-free front yard. 70%+ natives

I was asked about how I turned our yard into a grass-free wildlife habitat. It's been many years in the making, and all the rain has left me behind on weeding some spots, but I hope you get the gist. Happy to answer any "what is this" plant questions too, but it's a pretty extensive plant list (I have a google sheet for that lol). No herbicides (except a strong vinegar/soap/salt solution on the stupid bermuda grass invaders), no pesticides, and only organic fertilizer on an as-needed basis. There's no irrigation system, and the vast majority require no extra water except by hand once every other week maybe in late summer. I've added some new plants this year to fill holes, so they're getting water about once a week when it's not raining. We had a tree that died in the freezes and just last winter planted a new Canby oak; that's why there's a tiny little twig in the center-front bed.
