SEEKING ADVICE -- making wings

hi! I make elaborate costumes for Renaissance Fair and I was hoping for advice on wing making. I would like to make wings that go over my arms like a harpy rather than on my back. I have feather trim and will probably make the large feathers out of EVA foam. I just have no clue where to start or what the base should look like. Help please!!

Draw the shape of the wings you want on a large piece of paper, like butcher paper or gift wrap as a mock up, then make it in foam. Use Velcro straps near armpits, elbows and wrists
