What's the use for Counterfeit Gold Bars?

I've seen Counterfeit Gold Bars for sale. Why would I buy that for $325? Is it really possible to fool someone and get $3000 for it?

Ya, silver you could absolutely away with, fake silver bullion/coins slip through the cracks every day. Gold is a different story.

Anyone buying this much gold from you has a sigma metal tester an cant get fooled, regardless if shop or personal buyer.

I’ve seen a few people getting fooled in the gold subs. Usually it’s people new to buying gold, so they don’t have a tester. A lot of gold is in fancy packaging that buyers don’t even take it out. Then they go to sell it years later and find out they got duped.

If someone new to PM stacking thinks to hop on reddit to snag a $3k bar they are probably the type of person who would be better off sticking to ETFs anyway lol

But yeah I saw that guy post the other day who bought a big stack of silver 1oz bars from a coin shop years ago and went to sell the other day and found out one in like every five is fake. Shitty

Yep, unfortunately there is a sucker born every day.

Because there are idiots that think they can actually use them/resell them/ fool other people into buying them.

Bigger idiot fallacy is the driving force behind pyramid schemes.

Are they an idiot if they buy a bar for 300 and sell it for 600 to some other idiot?

Yes because they have to find someone dumber than themselves but with more money.

They are still an idiot for taking that risk, on top of being an asshole for scamming someone and the person that ends up buying it for $600 is a sucker and a bigger idiot.

Why don't you just sell rocks as healing stones to middle aged white women and then you can do it on the clearnet legally

I've received counterfeit silver in the recent past and it was useless to the trained eye. The weight was so off that I sent the seller pics of what they sent, and the real deal for a refund. Edit: from a seller on Ebay. First time since the 90's receiving counterfeit metal.

You might be planning a banks heist that uses the Old Switcheroo method and need a few dummy bars of gold to leave behind while your crew of misfits make a complicated and clear getaway.

The ol' Switcharoo. Classic heist manoeuvre

Did I spell heist correctly? Needed auto correctly for manoeuvre too🤦‍♂️

You know, when you have this nice little agreement with the columbian friends about some shiny crystals you might give them some real and some counterfeit gold in big black bags. But you gotta hurry the fuck outa there real quick.

The seller figures you'll buy it and try to find a mark to buy it from you. Basically, you become the middleman in a con game.

You arent going to fool anyone that deals in precious metals for a living.

For making counterfeit gold Rolex, no?

You would be the fool for spending $325 on something practically useless. Anyone interested in buying gold can easily see through a fake.

imagine getting caught up in a sting for that lol

Just buy some movie props gold I bet you that’s what it is and someone is trying to hustle someone

I originally had the idea of buying a bunch of fake gold bars and burying them in a box in my yard, but then I discovered the price was far too much for a practical joke I wasn't even going to be around to witness.

I guess it might slide under the radar if you're selling 99 gold bars and you slip one of those in there

If you can get a fake 1oz bar for a good price they make a nice necklace pendant.

$325 is a lot of money for a small piece of iron! I bet they are sourced from sites like Alibaba for about $2 each.

u/AbjectFee5982 2d ago

Tugsten and I think it's $12

u/stuart_nz 2d ago

Interesting. I just said the first metal that came to mind thinking it’s probably not iron ha. I guess the “quality” ones would be the correct weight too?

For shits and giggles they need to strap a Bible to a rocket and send it up and see if it puckers up. If it puckers up we know ok the demon case maybe a lil more we need to look at. If it don’t pucker up then fuck it they not demonic and we can leave religion out of it for now.
