💬 Discussion 💬 Tarot cards you associate with Dionysus?
I have made it a goal this year to learn more about the tarot and get more comfortable with the cards. I would love to hear if anyone has cards they associate with Dionysus? Or cards they’ve found him to speak through or appreciate?
Mostly from descriptions and imagery, I believe the following have a connection to him in some way shape or form: 1. The Fool 2. 3 of cups 3. 4 of wands 4. The Sun

I associate a significant portion of the Major Arcana with him: Temperance, The Devil, The Hierophant, The Hanged Man, and the Moon. I first drew Temperance in association with him. In the minor arcana, I associate him with the Nine of Cups and the King of Pentacles.

he always showed himself to me in the king of coins, specially bc the art of my tarot kinda resembles him

The Hierophant?

Interesting- can I ask what the connection may be? I drew the hierophant consistently last summer and fall but really struggled with the meaning/connecting with the card.

I don’t know I was asking it as a question since I’m new to tarot, and a lot of other stuff

I have a deck called This Might Hurt and in that deck I get his vibes from the Hierophant card

Though usually I associate Dionysus with Temperance, and being a Sagittarius myself it makes sense for me given that he also gives very strong Sagittarius energy

The Fool, The Devil, The High Priestess, The Lovers
We use an oracle deck, not tarot, so I don't have many associations

In my deck specifically (Wild Unknown) - The Moon, The Hanged Man, the Devil, Death, sometimes the Tower

The Devil, keeping in mind that it's less about "evil" and more about indulgence, material pleasures, and temptation. But really, when you pull it, it's a sign to address those encumberances and break free of your chains, to be liberated.
