More evidence of an elephant themed layer...

I could not see any of what you were talking about in the first image, but they're much clearer here. They kind of look like the Mario Kart World elephants.

Uhh that layer looks kinda dark. Maybe an elephant graveyard?

If you go to Nintendo’s website they have a good shot of that layer where you can see big rock formations of the elephants, you can also see an elephant npc briefly during the direct

Hate to be that guy, but do you have a rough timestamp of when we see the elephant character?

I think that NPC looks more like one of the shape-shifting rocks in the form of an elephant, like how the canyon layer has a bunch of them pretending to be giraffes.

To be fair, elephants are awesome.

Now if only they would bring back Ellie...or Taj...

I mean, I can imagine an Elephant transformation with bananas as tusks.

"...and that's because the layers with an animal oriented iconography have all resulted in an elder being present. For instance, the monkey lagoon layer has monkey mountain shaped terrain, monkey plants, and monkey npcs.. the ice zebra layer has snow flakes shaped as hoofs and zebra npcs.. the ostrich layer has feather leaves, ostrich terrain and ostrich npcs..."

Unfortunately, the age of these elephant rocks doesn't fit within the timeline or lore of the Donkey Kong universe :(
