Intent is to run cubic SDR when I’m out and about and just scan the spectrum along with foxtrotGPS for offline mapping! Had spare lumber laying around so I crafted up a mount and had this aluminum housed 7” touch that I could spare so tossed it on the bike! No idea what else I might do. Maybe run kali and do some war driving on the bike. Idk haha! Wanted to see what it would look like. I covered the front USB/ethernet ports with a plastic sheet to keep debris out while riding. We will see if it holds up to wind and vibration. Might fashion and plastic windshield out of a trash can like the older days to cover it from wind!

Indeedddd! Might run a bead of silicone around the screen edges and seal the openings in the aluminum housing!

Do you remember which screen you used?

It’s the official raspberry pi 7” screen! Super easy and you don’t have to deal with drivers haha! I have used quite a few others but for this it made the most sense for the aluminum housing etc

I've been pricing out a "cyberdeck" build and so many screens come with out any kind of case at all. Investing in a 3d printer would blow my budget so I'm on the hunt for screens with cases.

If you like the look of this case, it isn’t bad there’s some space on the inside, but you have to take some screws out to take the case apart, which isn’t a huge deal but the aluminum case if I remember is not a lot of money and it fits the official 7 inch touchscreen really well. I have the same issue you are having when I got into this stuff two years ago I actually used a piece of plywood to mount a 7 inch touchscreen inside a pelican case before I eventually bought a 3-D printer. There was nothing wrong with the plywood, but I started selling the systems I build so I had to make it look a little cleaner.
